Yeah, Hatton looked great at 140 against Juan Lazcano, who nearly KO'ed him, and the feather fisted Mallinaggi.

Roach was quoted on 24/7 for the Pac-Cotto fight that he never thought Hatton was any good anyway.

So yeah, BIG risk for Pac.....

So you think anything Roach says is 100%? Or just when it suits?

It's his opinion. I cant say whether he is wrong or right, but it's HIS OPINION that Hatton was not very good, and he approved him as an opponent for Pac.

What I think about it is irrelevant.

so what weight suited hatton best? hatton blasted the #2 LWW in malignaggi before his hatton fight. floyd fought hatton at 147 where he looked **** in his last 147 fight and floyd knows this.

pac is also fighting twice a year why mayweather is barely fighting at all, thats why he gets criticism, less fights and the ones he does pick are bull****.

Is there ANY fighter that takes a fight without thinking or believing he can win?, this is a discipline sport if these guys have no self confidence they would be serving in KFC instead.

The thing is, Hatton outweighed Floyd in the ring for that fight, as he routinely came in the ring at 153-154.

And Hatton didnt blast Malinaggi, he looked ok at best against a fighter who could not hurt him.

Also, the thing is this: Hatton called Floyd out live on HBO before thier fight. So, if I am the champ at 140, and I call out the Champ at 147, would I expect the 147lb champ to come down to 140? Or would I move up and fight the champ at the weight where he is champ?

If I "knew" I could not fight at 147, I would not call out the welterweight champ. :deal

Guys no fight is a sure win. Thats why there are upsets. I agree that the fights we want to see arent being made. The guys they are fight are pretty close to the topof the sport. And can probably beat 90 % of fighters. The fights a I think would be good are as follows. 1 floyd vs martinez. 2 pac vs bradley 3 donaire vs gamboa.4 chavez jr vs alvarez and 5 marquez vs guerrrero. What do you guys think

Hatton fought at 140 because it allowed him to fight smaller opponents. It had nothing to do with him not being a good WW himself but the fact that WW are just stronger so his style isn't as effective. Mayweather was not a big WW at the time so fighting Mayweather at 147 meant nothing.

Collazo was a big strong WW which is a stylistic nightmare for Hatton since his pressure style of leaning on opponents and breaking them down wouldn't be that effective against a guy like Collazo.

So who should he have fought instead ****? If he took on a lesser name opponent, ppl like you would say he cherry picked and ducked Hatton.

what fight are you watching? hatton essentially gave malignaggi the wrost beating of his life, even worst than the one he got from cotto.

i understand that hatton has no choice but to fight floyd at 147 but don't say that the hatton that floyd fought at 147 was much more efefctive or than the hatton at 140. hatton looked **** in his fight against collazo at 147.
