    Even though Gutierrez is badly faded, it wouldn't exactly surprise me one bit if he pulls off the upset in the opening bout.

    Nope, he's still fairly capable. Mantequilla looked pretty good against Cisneros on the Holt-Diaz card, but not invulnerable.

    Gonzalez hooks to the body. Gutierrez tries to defend on the inside, unafraid of getting right in there with a high turtle shell as Gonzalez dents his sides with left and right hooks. Gutierrez gets rocked around as Gonzalez brings a few of his hooks up to smash into his gloves. Gutierrez is pushing out with a lame jab and trying for his own high hooks during his brief peeks outside his peekaboo guard. Gutierrez working only in spurts and not working effectively. Gonzalez is consistent, just combining right and left hooks either below the elbows or around the gloves and into the braids of Gutierrez. Not a blistering work rate, but not lackadaisical either. Just steady.

    could these guys be more flat footed and slow on their feet. Looks like cruiser weights in there.

    Gutierrez now being more aggressive, greeting Gonzalez with his own pairs of hooks coming forward. Gutierrez still getting hit more. Gonzalez also hits considerably harder. Gutierrez is in bad trouble after getting his face reverberated with some solid bombs. Gonzalez patiently chisels away at him, remembering to drop some hooks to the body as well. Gutierrez is backed to the ropes taking a severe beating but standing up to it well and trying to answer back. BRUTAL left hooks doubled to the ribs. Hard right to the gut. Left-right-left-right-left-right-left-right eight power punch combo to the face by Gonzalez, and Gutierrez just stands up to it as his face is literally sliced and diced.

    10-9 Gonzalez

    Had it been that one-sided for all three minutes and not just the last two, that might have qualified for knockdownless 10-8.

    could these guys have less defense? Fan friendly fight for sure. Not much display in the skill department.
