How was Narvaez not headlining? Isn't he huge in Argentina? :blood

Anyway, Hector David Saldivia vs. Carmelito De Jesus is up. 6 rounds @ welterweight.

Maybe it's being shown on delay...or it's a walkout bout. I can't imagine this is the main event over a huge domestic star in a world title bout.

Wait, we've got one draw here from Sarritzu, right? I'm not even good at sober math, so I might be miscounting the total. It's either 20-0-1 or 21-0-1 now though. Wicked stat.

Oh that's right. That Draw up in Italy. That's right, that means this would be his 20th victory. Good call.

    Round 1

Saldivia stalks, left hand low, in a slick boxer's stance. De Jesus just circles outside, his posture loose and his hands moving up and down like elevators at a major metropolitan hospital. Saldivia comes in and flips up a high jab. Quick combo by Saldivia now, slicing at the taller man with an overhand right. De Jesus keeps backing up to the ropes and reaching his spindly arms out to grab Saldivia. Flurries from Saldivia before getting clinched and/or pushed down by the base of the neck. Saldivia chases with thrusting jabs. Messy exchange at the end.

    10-9 Saldivia

    Round 2

Saldivia comes in behind a very light flow of jabs and jogging hooks. De Jesus is hugging and shoving off, and doesn't seem like he came to fight tonight. Saldivia gets him in the corner and in some pain with some hooks to the body and step-away glancing uppercuts to the face. De Jesus takes the knee and doesn't bother getting up.

That was a nice mellow destruction by Saldivia. He's like the stoner's boxer.

Shocking as it may be, De Jesus has never been stopped before in 16 professional bouts. :yep Astonishing for a physically and mentally fragile ***** with no apparent abundance of talent to make up for his tenderness.

Of course, HALF of his opponents to date had been making their pro debut! :patsch No kidding. Half.

This has been bothering me, but I haven't had the time until now to closely analyze it.

You didn't actually make any subtle changes, did you? That was just an attempt to waste my valuable time.

On a serious note, Narvaez is one of the best 35+ guys in the sport and it's a shame his impact on history will likely end up being fairly obscure. Also, I would like to see a Narvaez/Muggsy Bogues match, if at all possible.

...This can still happen, you know? The Bogues of the Larry David match would've given Narvaez hell, tonight.
