You can criticise almost anyone's record but when they're at the top of their division for a decade they deserve to be in.

Im hope Hatton somehow manages to get into the IBHOF just for the comedy value around here. There'll be rattles flying out of prams all over the place!!

In all seriousness, I do not see how Hatton does not get into it.

If you name the top three fighters of the year since the second world war, they will all get in. On top of this a fighter cannot go in twice, so if you are in the top three fighters of the year twice, that year the person coming fourth gets in, if he is not already a member...

So what I am saying is: If you are a top seven/eight fighter for any year post World War two, in time, you will be unlucky not to be in the Hall of Fame.

Hatton qualifies, it will only be a matter of time...

Its a nice honour for the fighters themselves but I've always thought its bit of a spurious debate from a fans point of view. It doesn't alter the fighters skills, achievements, wins etc.

edit: Yep, the selection process is attritional, stick around and you'll get in in the end!

I'd prefer the HOF to be reserved for great fighter's, but now a day's it seem's anybody can get into it if they've had a pretty good career.

@danrafaelespn @MikeCoppinger Did you vote for Barry McGuigan? Canelo deserves to be in more than he does.

Everyone and his kid brother gets into the IBHOF these days, Barry McGuigan, Slyvester Stallone, And now Kostya Tszyu a guy that only had 34 fights and only won world titles in the one weight category and whos biggest win was probably Zab Judah.

Since everyone gets in, Why not Tszyu?

Amount of fights is irrelevant. It's how many top level fights you have, and Tszyu was fighting for world titles when he had only had 13 fights.

Why does only winning titles in one weight category hinder him? Marvin Hagler only won titles at middleweight, but he dominated it. Winning baubles at 5 different weight classes doesn't better that for me.
