prime tyson couldn't finish quite a few guys who were nothing compared to vitali. i actually think prime vitali would have handed tyson his ass. dude cannot be intimidated, has an iron chin, hits hard as hell, and seems to be a tougher guy than tyson ever was. i don't understand how anyone can logically think that any version of tyson would crush or easily beat vitali.

 

Prime Tyson would have bust Vitali's face open just like Lewis and forced a stoppage by round 5.

 

He also only went one with Donovan Ruddock.

Ruddock > Vitali > Tyson

 

I never doubt Vitali's chin but we would have seen just how iron it was (no pun intended) b/c Mike woulda hit him harder in my opinion than Vitali's ever been tagged.

There is just no way Tyson is stopping Vitali, unless he lands a perfect body punch, or perfect accumulative body punches.

Like someone said, this is Vitali we're talking about, Tyson probably would stop Wladimir early, but not Vitali... this one goes to the scorecards, and it'd be a competetive fight.

 

I would agree with you, I think Tyson would stop Wald early, Vitali would be a hard fight for Tyson. Vitali has the chin to stand and trade with Tyson. Tyson did not like that kind of fight, he liked to try to take you out early, I just could not see Tyson doing that to Vitali.

 

Vitali is a tough guy. But he is getting too much credit in this matchup.
He went life and death with an old, semi-retired Lewis and was left with his face hanging off. A peak Tyson, even if he wasn't able to get the KO which i think would, has i think Lewis was gonna aswell, would cut Vitali up too, with his fast 5-6 punch combos. Fair enough Lewis size was a factor, but peak Tyson's speed would be a big one too.
Old Lewis was only landing singles and look what he done.

P.S Bubby's having a laugh comparing the Ribalta Tyson fought with the one Vitali fought years later. Sums up his boxing knowledge.

 

He dominated that Lennox until got Horrible Cut nut hugger. Prime Lennox might make it competive at his best. Of course He could Cut Vitali again which might be his only chance to beat him.

That being said of course Tyson could KO Vitali more likely he wold win on points thou.
