Pacquiao now vs Hamed late 90's

Well, Pacquiao now, decapitates him since he's a welterweight and all.

The 126 version of Pac v Naz would've been tremendous. Pac was still raw enough that Naz could've caught him with some bombs. I wouldn't discount Hamed's chances at all. Would've been fun to watch, regardless.

 

I give Hamed very good chance versus Pac at 126 and lower. Above that and Pac dislocates Hamed's head from his neck. Pac has a great chin but just above average around 120-26.

 

I can see Pac getting countered leaning in like the Marquez fight, would've been a great fight

 

That would have been an amazing fight.

The Hamed v Kevin Kelley was the last real Nas. Then he fell out with his trainer Brendan Ingle and then it all went downhill from there.

 

So 147 vs 126/122 Hamed?


Or like a WW Catch weight at 144 to give some advantage for Hamed?

Pac is awesome but he is a sucker for the uppercut. It's easy to imagine Hamed detonating something big. Would be a barnburner!

 

I hate it when fans somehow classify the "real" version of a fighter during one peak or bad performance. And other performance either green or shot.
If you consider the "real" Hamed only during the Kelley fight then you are basically saying he was either a flash in the pants or you did not follow Hamed that well.


MAB beat a legit prime Hamed. No excuse. The mythical perfect training camp does not exist.

 

Any version of Pacquiao executes Hamed. Would be easier than the Hatton fight.

 

Did not follow Hamed that well?? It was a well known fact that Hamed was getting lazy and struggling with his weight. Everyone knows it went downhill when he left his trainer Brendan Ingle. Who is the man who gave him his style. Once he left Ingle, he got new trainers in that tried to teach him how to fight in an orthodox style.

Emanuel Steward said that Hamed hardly sparred before the Barrerra fight and his preperation was mediocre.

 

That is not entirely true...

I believe there is video evidence showing that Naz wasn't even training properly and wasn't taking things seriously any more. He let his ego go to his head and paid the price.

 

MAB gave him a lesson yes, and he may have always done so. But it wasn't a prime Hamed he fought, the cracks were showing well before he fought MAB. The fact he had two head coaches giving instructions in alternating rounds tells you what you need to know.
