In my opinion, this is a great matchup at 154. I think this is a much more intriguing matchup than Cotto vs. Margarito II. Cintron can be somewhat wishy washy and unpredictable sometimes, but I think the guy has some skills. Cotto has changed his style and I think is a bit less fan friendly, but it should prolong his career and has done him some good. Throw this fight in Madison Square Garden (which should be done with renovations by then) or Atlantic City, or even throw this in Orlando at the new Amway Center, and this should sell well. Tons of boricuas in Orlando, and it's a new arena so all they need to do is throw those flags up on advertisements and those tickets will start selling right away. Thoughts? Who do you all have in this one?......(if it takes place) and does this fight bring any bit of excitement to anyone?
I like it! Plus if I'm not mistaken it'll be between the Ring #1 and #2, so the Ring belt will be on the line. This will bring the Ring title one step closer to being the only one that really matters, especially after all the bs that the WBC has been doing (diamond belt really?? and then JCC Jr. a champ WTF!!!)
Good fight. Cotto seems the favorite on paper but I think Cintron is loads better than Foreman and MAyorga and I think Cotto has looked a little rough in those fights. Cotto the obvious favorite but an upset wouldn't surprise me if this happened.
Cotto Tko10 Cintron. Cotto's boxing is a cut above Cintron's. Their power is the same. Cotto will land at a higher accuracy rate. Eventually it will wear Cintron down.
cintron is a very good fighter when things are going his way. i dont see cotto giving him any problems at 154. he would be a great underdog here. probably be around +150 when this fight should be even money.
Poor Cintron is always remembered for the crazy things that happen to make him look like a chump. But he's also scored some killer KO's. Cotto, not hard to find, is outreached by a bigger puncher. Could be dangerous for Miguel. Sometimes Cintron loses his composure totally, and that would be tragic against Cotto. But a focused Cintron has all the physical advantages. If his head doesn't explode, Kermit has a chance for an upset. Either way , it should be a scrap as long as it goes.
Cintron could give Cotto problems early with his reach and power but I think Miguel takes over after a few rounds and brings out the ***** in him.
I like the Cotto-Margartio fight better. I think its a better action fight, its the bigger fight, and has the great storyline going for it. Margarito matched up well with Cotto and would always be the favorite when both are at their best but I think he's slipped a lot more than Cotto to the point where Cotto should be favored but its still a very good fight. Cotto-Cintron is also a good fight and I am fine with seeing it if the Margarito rematch doesn't happen. I think Cintron also matches up well with Cotto and would be a very live underdog. I think Cotto would eventually break Cintron down but if Cintron caught him with something big and stopped him I wouldn't be at all surprised. I still think Molina pulls the upset on Cintron so I don't think a Cotto -Cintron fight happens anytime soon anyways.
My money would be on Cintron at 154. Too big, too strong, and an underrated boxer. if he can keep from jumping out of the ring, that is.
