If you have ever been in Fitzs presence or that of anyone around him you just know he would never talk like that.
Just today on facebook i see he told somebody if they were talking to Darren Barker to tell him he would fight him no problems.

    lightweight 60kg European
    1 Lomachenko Ukraine
    2 Selimov Russia
    3 Bruhard Germany
    4 Bril Germany
    5 David Oliver Joyce
    6 Chudenki Poland
    7 Eric Donovan
    8 Ward England
    9 Vaganov Russia
    10 Valentino Italy
    10 Azzedine France

Not the strongest weight, maybe Lomachenko is slipping, Vagaov is the Russian rep and Donovan, Joyce, Selimov, and either Bril or Bruhard wont be there. Valentino too has probably seen his best amature days so the likes of Iayev(Aze) Ward, McDonagh, Keles(Turkry) ismetov(Bul) could step up and win.Lomachenko is the sensible bet though.

Scrappy but fun I thought. Rare you see a pro spar without headguards though.

Has anyone contacted that site to see where they got the article from? Also, is it true bout Fitz getting dropped at will or is the stitches story true?

Stitches is anyway. Not too many, I think he said four just under the eye, which we saw at the Hyland presser.

*Fitzy has a change of heart*
    Stephen Sharpe 11th June 2011
On May 22nd Ireland’s current super middleweight and EBA & WBF
Intercontential middleweight champion Anthony Fitzgerald jetted of to the
Ukraine to offer his services to Avtandil Khurtsidze 24-2 (KO14) who defends
his IBO Middleweight Title tonight in Kiev.
The pride of the Northside had invaluable experience from sparring “The
Tornardo” but was found lacking and was sent home within three days. Word
from Ukraine indicates that “Fitzy” was being dropped at will by the WBA
    Number 1 rated Khurtsidze.
Fitzgerald who is currently ranked number ten in the world by the WBA
believes his Eastern Block experience left him better informed of his
ability and feels he needs to take a long hard look at his career.
*“When I got over there I was confident of proving I was world level but
know I know I am not ready for that step up just yet. I was recently looking
for a fight with Andy Lee but after Ukraine my team have decided that we
    should go in another direction”.*
Speaking to Greenjab.ie yesterday at his inner-city home the 25 year old
Dubliner also discussed the up and coming Irish middleweight title fight
between his old foe Robbie Long and the Cork based title holder Gary “Spike”
    O Sullivan.

*“It will be an interesting fight, if Robbie can put the pressure on but I
think Spike has the beatings of him, in saying that I hope he (Robbie) wins
the fight and I wish him all the best. As you know me and Robbie fought
three times and I know how tough he is and I sparred Spike and I believe
Spike has the power to stop Robbie”.*
No matter who wins the fight Fitzgerald is not looking for a fight at the
    winner.
*“I am looking for a big money fight at the moment. Darren Barker is a
fighter we are looking at he currently holds the EBU title and I feel I
wouldn’t be punished as much in that fight as he is not as big a puncher as
Andy Lee and who knows maybe I can get lucky and knock him spark out!
Currently I am in the top 10 of the WBA if Matt Macklin beats Felix Sturm at
the end of the month I would be hope he would give me a shot. I approached
him in Manchester after the Khan-McCloskey fight and he pretended not to
    know who I was”.*
It’s clear that the future is bright for “The Pride of The Northside” who
should get the big money fight he craves in the not too distant future.

Anthony told me today that he did three rounds over there, got cut in the third. The Ukraine side wanted him to continue sparing the next day and Fitzer refused, said he would be willing to body spar but was not willing to allow the cut to worsen. He also said at no time was he put down during the spar and said he will provide Greenjab.ie with some video footage of the spar.

Fair play mate. For what it is worth, even if he was put down in sparring once or twice, so what - it shows he is prepared to learn the hard way with good tough sparring with quality opponents - thousands of miles from home.

That is something that should be applauded. Dave Boy McAuley, one of our best boxers, got flattened in a regular basis in sparring but look what he went on to achieve.

and do you usually send stuff in to that site jab or is it just whoever sent this one in? If someone wanted to get at Fitz youd think they could have sent it to a more popular site. Id never heard of that site till the McKart press release a few weeks back. Makes me want to put a sneaky wager on his PR guy

    Well written for someone gargled.

I think my odds have drifted back out past 20/1 now with the domain name of the email address.

I dont think they will let you register a @yahoo.ie email address from Mancland.
