No i just want the best to fight the best. Stars should not be made with careful matchmaking. They should be made by fighting the best. A Manfredo fight would be acceptable had Chavez Jr. beat a tougher opponent. I will give Zbik credit since he actually showed some skills but come on!!

I agree for the most part. I'dlike to see guys win titles AFTER they're built up. Not win a title and then fight guys to see if they deserve it. I feel the same way about Alvarez too.

That said, considering who Chavez has been fighting, Manfredo is not so bad of a fight.

If you're wearing a world title belt around your waist you must be prepared to take on legitimate contenders. It's bull**** saying you're not ready for tough fights but you're a ****ing world title holder. If you're not ready you shouldn't have fought for the belt. Preaching to the choir here so anyway...

I see this as a 50-50 fight. But maybe 70-30 JCC Jr with the judges.

    Exactly.
Neither Alvarez nor Chavez Jr. needed to fight for a title yet.

Alvarez is 21 i think. Why would they get him a title so early?? Mexican fans are honest fans. We do no sugar coat it. So if Alvarez starts fighting all soft opposition while holding a title we will be the first to throw the first rock.
If you ask any Mexican fan what they think about Jr. they will tell you he is an average fighter and does not impress them.
Alvarez is a different story because he does show skills but if he keeps taking on softer guys you can believe we will turn on him.

I think it was GBP that messed it up for Alvarez.

Pretty much what was expected here. Arum now has a title around Chavez's waist he sees more cash than before. He's going to go this route until he is forced, if he ever is, to face a mandatory that is a threat. After this fight expect to see Chavez in with Alfonso Gomez, Wolak, or Yuri Foreman type guys as long as possible.

Even tho I am a fan of Alvarez the way they made a belt for him, against who he won it, and winning a belt this early in his career was wrong.

soft touch for a first defense

i know he needs to develope still but is this gonna make him better?

    is manfredo ranked?

manfredo may have the power to hurt him and chavez may have the leaky defense to get hit but i doubt manfredo wins

It would be a good fight and Wolak would probably be at the far end of viable Chavez opponents but he is a Top Rank guy, they were on track to fight before, and he'd have to move up in weight for the fight so I could see this fight happening.
