    100% agreed. Excellent thread.

Mayweather is doing this on purpose, he doesn't need the tests to make this fight, he's only doing this to dictate and look better in the negotiations. All of this could also be a way to disrespect Pacquiao in a very cheap way and completely stop this fight from happening.

Of course Hagler would feel this way. Floyd is doing the same thing to Pac that Leonard did to Hagler.

Either way, Pac has asked for things in negotiations for fights before. Theres no difference. People just like Pac more than they like Floyd so they make excuses for him.

Hagler is the GOAT. He knows a thing or two about boxing. He speaks rarely, but when he does, we should open our ears. Marvin outboxed Ray Leonard with no effort. Whenever you see a 118-110 scorecard in what was obviously a close fight, you know there has been a robbery.

    What were the other 2?

I had it for SRL, but it was very close, and that score is absurd.

Hagler asked for that judge too.

    Wiki has this:

"Leonard was awarded a controversial split-decision. Judge Dave Moretti scored it 115–113 for Leonard, while judge Lou Filippo had it 115–113 for Hagler. Judge Jose Guerra scored the fight 118–110 for Leonard. Many felt that Hagler deserved the decision because he was the aggressor and landed the harder punches. British boxing journalist Hugh McIlvanney wrote that Leonard's plan was to "steal rounds with a few flashy and carefully timed flurries....he was happy to exaggerate hand speed at the expense of power, and neither he nor two of the scorers seemed bothered by the fact that many of the punches landed on the champion's gloves and arms."

Interesting especially since most people here think Froch beat Johnson recently, and do not discount for many of Froch's combos landing on Johnson's gloves.

    The "wide" robbery:

Basically, in the case of a close fight, one judge is ordered to score it very wide for the protected fighter, and at least one of the remaining two is ordered to score it close for the protected fighter. Sometimes the third judge is left alone, and scores it the way he sees it, so you get a SD. You can recognize this type of robbery by the insane wide score.

Examples off the top of my head:
(notice the home fighter always wins)

    Williams vs Martinez 1
    Berto vs Collazo
    Kessler vs Froch
    Hagler vs Watts 1

Then he should have pushed for a rematch instead of whining and retiring. He basically allowed SRL to sucker him into his game. He should be salty at himself for not sticking around and shoving his fist damn SRL's throat. Tommy Hearns did it, though he still didn't get the win.

Either way Marvin is just another old vet hating on Floyd right along with Tyson, Holmes, and many others. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but something tells me Floyd won't lose any sleep over it.

SRL would have never gave Hagler a rematch!

    That's very interesting.
Are you saying this is planned out before that way?
I do not shy away from conspiracy matters.
Is this your analysis from observation of many fights? Inside info? Or what?
    Thanks.

And it is nice to see Hagler opine the way he did--not based on race or nationality.

He is a true warrior and "student" of the game--a master of course.

He based his opinion solely on what he observed and sensed.

He senses fear and gamesmanship in the one fighter trying to use any excuse to either avoid the other or to try to mess with his head.

Hagler's advice: just do the fight, and stop playing games.

And interesting the way Hagler tried to avoid saying who he thinks would win, until the interviewer pinned him at the end.

He chose the warrior, like himself, Pacquaio.
