I have a bit of a dubious source... a friend of a friend basically is supposedly in the know and he says that Haye has been sparring as a southpaw. It seems like a good idea to me. Was it Brewster or Sanders that was a southpaw? Could this be what Booth was talking about when he said Wlad won't know what Haye is going to do? Either way I don;t think Haye has a chance but it could make for an interesting 1st round until Wlad adjusts... Thoughts...
I doubt this is true. It's a horrible idea if it is. The only other person I've seen try this is Donaire, and he's a natural lefty. He did it against a scrub and switched back to his convential stance after struggling a bit in the first 4 rounds. Wlad is way too good to be experimenting on like this.
i dont know the thing is he is sparring some serious folks, robert helenius, david price, tony thompson etc etc those guys would really make him pay for making mistakes.
I can agree with this, Haye has a good bunch of sparring partners. To answer the threadstarter, Corrie Sanders is a southpaw and that may have helped him against Wladimir. But then again, Byrd is a southpaw and so was Chagaev, Thompson, Ibragimov & others.
No he's not. And by the way, Robert Helenius pretty much said he couldn't lay a glove on Haye in sparring, truth be told. I think David Haye is in tremendous shape for this one.
Hmm I highly doubt it or if so it would be a terrible idea to head into the fight in that stance imo. Wasn't there rumours Mosley was gonna fight Pac as a lefty?
Why do people believe that Wlad would have problems with a southpaw? Chagaev, Thompson, Ibragimov, Brock, and Byrd are southpaws. Well, he lost to Sanders but I don´t think that it had that much to do with Sanders being a southpaw
He's doing pretty good for himself, sure.. he may not be on Wladimirs level yet, but his jab is still pretty much one of the divisions best and somewhat similar to Wladimirs. If he can't lay glove on Haye, I think Wladimir is going to have a hard time landing his jab with regularity, which has been the key for him in pretty much all his fights.
