    I probably should've included Starling-Breland in the 'Honourable Mentions', but early on I had decided not to place it in the 50, so forgot about it by 'Honourable Mentions' time. Breland hadn't actually beaten anyone of any real substance before meeting Marlon, despite the hype, and obviously it wasn't a great performance from Starling, despite the finish. IMO, it just didn't make the cut via my criteria.

    Fair dinkum. I guess it held more weight at the time than it does looking back (Breland went on to achieve very little, despite the hype, like you say).

    Brilliant Article truly very good. I hate posting in this forum it is full of rubbish posts and biased articles. This is an excellent piece and regard it as an excellent account of the 80s boxing scene.

    Awesome stuff. It won't get the credit it deserves here because it isn't current enough and too many big fights are on the horizon.

    What decades have you done altogether?

    Don curry is phenomenaly underrated in this day and age.

    Duran beating leonard has to number 1. Glad honeyghan made the top 5 because that was something special.

    Best read I've had on this forum...ever...ever. A mighty task acquiring all the footage and taking to time to watch the fights, and then to organise them. Outstanding piece of work.

    Two questions if you could answer them:

    1. I always have trouble separating what I see as the better win in Holmes-Spinks 1 and Duran-Leonard 1. The historical significance of Holmes-Spinks is that its is the first (by my knowledge) light-heavyweight champion who goes on to beat a heavyweight champion, do you think that even if its not a better win than Duran-Leonard, is it more historically significant? If my idea of historical significance and "better win" don't contradict each other that is.

    2. How would you rank your other top victories of the decade, in Mosley-de la Hoya 1, Douglas-Tyson and Duran-Leonard 1?

    Once again brilliant list. Bookmarked for when I need a new fight to watch. :good:good:good
