Laffie: I see you have confidence in Ward facing Bute. You never know it could be Froch vs Kessler!

I still think it should be possible for Kessler to fight Stieglitz in early September, and take the WBO belt. Bute fights and beats Mendy on 9th of July. That still gves some time for Bute vs Kessler around the same time the super six final is held, maybe a month or two later. I know this depends on a lot of intangibles, and the promoters will probably kill it, but that's my hope. After all the super six and everything I want to see a unified champion at 168!

I think Ward wins. But if Froch wins, he could prefer to face Kessler to avenge his loss. Bute would then be next.

It seems impossible to me that Kessler-Stieglitz gets made for early September. It's in less than 3 months. Stieglitz' promoter won't make it easy for Sauerland. It will probably go to purse bid. All the process takes a lot of time. I wouldn't be surprised if Bute's fight post Mendy was before the Kessler-Stieglitz fight, if it ever happens.

Kessler said in his last post fight press conference that he wants to fight again in September or October. I think he would be ready enough to take Stieglitz in September as I think he knows time is marching on, and he has to get busy again.

I agree Kessler would be ready for September but I doubt Stieglitz will be.

bute doesnt need kessler, he can just wait for the super six winner and in mean time fight someone like Robert Stieglitz or Dimitri Sartison. Just for fans and staying activ.

Kessler still owes froch that rematch, even though I thought Kessler won, it was still a close fight and imo was fight of the year.

The fact that Sauerland don't answer officially to Interbox with a counter-offer and the speed that they went to the Steiglitz opportunity tells that they have no interest since a long time for Bute, even in a fight in Denmark and they made their bed after the Montreal's travel, after they saw Bute in action.
Can we call it ducking, yes I think. But I can understand, from an athlete who is not completely at his best. Maybe, they concluded at this moment that Bute was too dangerous.
Last week, a journalist from Montreal called Showtime and for them. they were waiting for Bute-Kessler next fall, no other fight; it will be interesting to see their reaction.

Ironically, I am not sure if Kessler-Steiglitz would not be more expensive for Sauerland, and Steiglitz is not a big star in Germany.

Stieglitz will likely wait for the purse bid as he'll get 75% of it. Kessler may end making less money than against Bute while fighting in his opponent's backyard. I think the money is not the real issue here. Sauerland goes for a lower reward but with a much more lower risk.

What do Showtime guys think of that? We may never know... They don't talk too much.

Judging by the look on Kessler's face, after Bute's win against Brian Magee I'm sure that the Dane's confidence dropped. Although, I would love the fight to happen.

The latest developments leads me to think that Sauerland will send Kessler to Germany to fight Stieglitz and that the fight will go to purseoffers.

I cannot believe that Sauerland will accept a 75/25 split in favour of Stieglitz and have the fight staged in Magdeburg in front of 5K people instead of in Denmark in front of at least thrice that number. :nonono

If if ends up that way I cannot believe that Sauerland didn't pursue the Bute fight more. Surely that would have given a hell of a lot more cash. I'm then inclined to say that it looks like Kessler/Sauerland wants nothing to do with the canadian star. At least not at this moment. Their confidence must have dropped. ......
