That's not true. There's boxers that Toney likes and he will speak good about them. Mostly old-schoolers but also some guys like Holyfield or Pac and a couple others. Not very objective though. I think he's very jealous of Hopkins.
He had good things to say about McCallum. He also claimed Merqui Sosa was p4p the biggest puncher he ever faced , and that Sam Peter was h2h the biggest one.
This is the most quoted thing on this thread but I'll add from others that he does have nothing but respect for Mccallum and did say Sosa hit him the hardest. He also gave props to Floyd(see vid below if you can understand him lol) before as well as Manny and recently he even congratulated Hopkins on his victory over Pascal in the rematch. Very hard to gain Toney's respect but to say he never shows it to others isn't true, it just seems that way because he is a known trashtalker. What I said was meant as a joke. I know Toney respects guys who can actually fight, they're just few and far between, so hes a master trash talker.
I scored it once more and had the same as the last time: McCallum winning by a point. But there were several very close rds and rd 12 could possibly be scored 10-8 (but I didn't) so this is a fight that could either way. A draw was a fair result all in all. McCallum's rounds: 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 11 Toney's rds: 2, 4, 8, 10 and 12. Even: 9 Ps. Rds 7-9 was so close and hard to score that they could really be switched around with Toney winning 7 and McCallum 8 etc, but all in all I think they split those 3 rds in whatever order you like. The others, I had little hesitation with. Rd 1 could be scored a draw and the last one 10-8 for Toney. I don't think they should be, but it wouldn't be horrendous to do so. But to get back to the subject about Toney's abilities, I think he looked a bit limited in his first two fights against McCallum, impressive as he was at times. He was outjabbed, outthought and outmoved. The one thing that let him salvage a draw in the first fight was his tremendous right hand counter (perhaps the best I've seen), but when McCallum managed to neutralize that one much more in the rematch, only an outright robbery helped him get the result. The thing is, that we don't know how Hopkins would look like against an opponent of that technical and tactical quality, since he never met one. Sadly so.
