I was looking through some of Saj's old Tweets earlier... He claims Sky were offered Khan v Judah for Sky Sports 1,2 & 3 but they didn't want to know. He claims Burney Francis & Adam Smith don't want any business with Khan. Saj doesn't seem to realise that he is part of the problem. Team Khan are a nightmare to deal with & Sky won't deal with them.. I applaud Sky for taking a firm stance with team Khan. Hopefully Amir does the same & ditches his management before they mess up his reputation further.
Yes - although i wouldn't go as far as blaming this Saj fella for all of this mess (he is a complete nobody remember), it is all the hangers on and pathetic "tweeting" that make Team Khan look like complete amateurs.
I can understand Sky refusing to put Khan vs Judah on PPV but if they're unwilling to show it on regular Sky Sports because of a petty argument that does not seem smart, especially when even Team Khan are willing to bury the hatchet.
I don't think Amir has the cross-over appeal either he or his management team believe. Sky must have looked at the maths and figured that out for themselves. Saj Mohamed can tweet whatever he likes, but Sky as a business are only interested in making money. Sky have obviously decided that the benefits they gain by showing Khan are less than the financial or other demands made by Team Khan so it's 'Au Revoir' (not 'Goodbye'). A big run of Khan victories or a truly marquee fight might change this. Alternatively a big slice of (halal) Humble Pie could be eaten.
Is there any truth to Sky refusing to show Khan on regular SkySports 1, 2 and 3? If so, then Khan's lot are right to be annoyed by them. Yes, I can understand them rejecting PPV slots for them. But normal SkySports? What are their reasons for this? (This is of course providing Saj isn't talking bollocks)
Doesnt it depend on how much sky would be asked to pay for the rights to the fight and maybe they just thought Khan wasnt worth it. Not forgetting the money they eneded up wasting for the Mcckloskey fight.
I would imagine that the conversation went something like: Adam Smith: Sorry, we don't want this fight to be PPV. Asif Vali: Ok, thats fine, it can be on SkySports 1 2 or 3. Great! Adam Smith: Well ok, lets talk figures: Asif Vali: Ok, well we want a guaranteed £8 Gazillion, plus a 40% cut of advertising revenue. Hows that sounds. ...dialing tone... Asif Vali: Adam? Adam? Are you there? Hello? Adam? Amir Khan: Wotz happenin blud? Asif Vali: You'll be on PrimeTime for this fight Amir... Saj: **** SKY, THE *******S!!!! AMIR IS DA BEST!!! I'M OFF TO TWEET!
I agree sky is a very successful business and although they may have preferences and dislikes etc. if something is going to make them money you can be sure they are going to do it. If its true and Khan wanted ss1/2/3 and they turned it down it must mean that the costs outweighed the benefit. the money wasted on the McCloskey fight will be largely irrelevant except for a degree of risk they may associate with dealing with such a bunch of fools. As all good businessman knows sunk costs are irrelevant in accepting projects that bring in positive future inflows:good.
its not like Khan is going to vastly increase his fan base is it? hes had a lot of exposure for years and a lot of his "fans" aren't big boxing fans in general and would watch his fights whether it was against some crap cabby or floyd mayweather. ok his big fights would get slightly bigger audiences, but he is such an unlikable character that he won't be able to build a following like people such as froch, cleverly, barker could potentially.
