There are two things I'll never forget... Grappling with a wrestler. I'll always remember the freak strength that I was not at all prepared for. The other is getting kicked by a REAL Muay Thai master. The first thought though my head was, "No. ****ing. Way."
IF you ever hear that show Tony Kornheiser and Mike Wilbon are on they always praise boxing and say MMA is too violent to watch so most of the "mainstream" boxing media believes this to be the case too, even though like the trainer said and most of the people on here know, it's actually the opposite.
Of course it is, MMA just looks more damaging. MMA ****s up your body, Boxing ****s up your brain. Once a guy is down in MMA, if someone follows up they can get the stoppage. That saves guys from punishment. I've said for years that boxing has to become more brutal - smaller rings, smaller gloves, no mandatory 8 counts, can't be saved by the bell, can't take a knee etc All these things that allow boxers to survive need to be stopped.
Very interesting views. Wouldn't surprise me if he's correct. Boxing doesn't give you cauliflower ears though
