    I didn't realize Marciano was a middleweight/light-heavyweight

Marciano could have always been a light-heavyweight

The Charles that ko'ed Archie Moore would have brutally ko'ed Hopkins OR Toney.

Marciano could have always been a light-heavyweight.
Charles got stopped while hydrated by much lesser opponents than Roy Jones Jr , Toney , at his worst shape could not get stopped by those who stopped Charles. Now which version of Charles would you pick over Sam Peter and to draw with Rahman ? the shot one , or the light supermiddleweight one ?

Toney was not Archie Moore .
Archie Moore would have gotten (s)parked by Louis , just like he was by Marciano , maybe even somewhat worse.
The Charles who KOd Moore was almost KOBY Moore himself , and we do know he was legitimately stopped by lesser men than Moore .
Who could stop Toney ? Charles out of all people.:-(
How ? by staying out of range or by getting close and detonated by Toney's accurate inside work ? maybe by trying to keep Toney at bay and getting countered ?
