If Cotto moved to 154, looked medicore and went back to 147 WHILE Floyd looked fantastic at 154 and stayed, then yes, people SHOULD complain.

You completely changed the scenario. Cotto currently campaigns at 154. Floyd has fought at 154 once where he earned a SD. Would anyone complain about the weight if Mayweather, right now, signed to fight Cotto at 154 lbs?

Floyd was the champion. Hatton issued the challenge, and got his shot.

Peep this. Cotto was asked to come down to 145 to fight Pacquiao, why? Did fans complain? Yes. Why? Because their was manipulation of Cottos 147 lb title. Duran did not ask Leonard to come in at 140. Arguello didn't ask pryor to come to 135.

Do I think that not pac, but his people saw how pac lost to Morales at 130, a weight higher for him at that time and learned their lesson, yes. Pacs advisors did not want that to happen again. It came down to who they were fighting. Did they ask diaz to come to 133 for his lw title? They asked every true threat to cone down a few lbs...or no fight.

Floyd never asked anyone to come up or down in weight. That is one of my beefs with pac when judging him. Pac did not have to ask anyone to come down in weight. Pac was that good imo, but his advisors either didn't know that, or they truly wanted an advantage in those fights.

Oh Roach definitely wants the advantage, although Pac already has most. Doubt it's because of Pac's wants/wishes though.

I changed it to make it the same as the ORIGINAL scenario. And why would anyone complain if Floyd fought Cotto or Martinez at 154? Floyd has looked good at 154. Difference is, Hatton didn't at 147.

Before you ban someone for stupidity, what's the policy for banning one based on hysterics? :D

No one made Hatton fight at 147 other then Ricky Hatton. What many seem to be saying is, Hatton as 147 is no different then Hatton at 140. Which is just ridiculous to anyone with a set of eye.

That's funny considering that many people claim that he didn't look that good against Oscar. You know what, let's change the scenario to make them pretty much equal. Let's say Cotto goes up to MW and wins a title. Let's say right after Mayweather challenges Cotto, and they sign to fight at 154 lbs. Now that's pretty much identical to the Mayweather/Hatton situation. You and I both know damn well that no one would be complaining about the weight, especially you.

Here's another thing, Hatton was knocked out cold at 140lbs. It was against a lefty too. Maybe it was Collazo's left handed stance, or the fact that Hatton hadn't trained properly before that fight, rather than Hatton's inablility to perform at 147 that caused him to struggle against Collazo.

It wouldn't have mattered when or what weight they fought at.Same results every time IMO.

Floyd Jr is on another level.

Floyd didn't look good at 154 and Hatton didn't look good at 147. Hatton looked more vulnerable at 147 than Floyd did at 154, but when you move up, that'll happen. Weight wise Hatton felt good at 147, but his height and reach were that of a 140 lb fighter.

That is why there is a catchweight to even the playing field.

Oh, you mean Oscar, the #1 JrMW that the Floyd fans were calling him at the time? Not sure if you were posting here, but that was the consensus from Floyd fans. What was Collazo ranked @ 147 when he fought Hatton?

It depends on WHO COtto beat for a title at 160, and how he looked. The end result isn't the only thing to look at. I take into consideration other factors.
