    Oleydong Sithsamerchai vs Yasutaka Kuroki

First time I've watched either man fight, and was really impressed with Oleydong. Kuroki struggled to land anything at first, and his best chances seemed to come when he was able to get in close - even then Oleydong was able to land some strong shots of his own.

Kuroki was able to closethe distance a lot earlier in the second round, and appeared to be getting the better of some exchanges. Again though the pattern seemed to repeat where Oleydong was able to land more powerful shots, but Kuroki was able to get close and some quick frenzied exchanges took place.

As the fight progressed Kuroki didn't seem put off by the clean shots that Oleydong was landing, and just kept coming forward looking to close the distance. Oleydong though, more often than not, was able to either get the better of any exchanges, or grab a hold of his opponent until the ref forced a break, and Kuroki would have to start chasing all over again.

As I said, I've not seen any of their previous fights so I could be totally wrong, but Oleydong seemed to have better technique, and didn't really struggle to land good clean shots. I was also impressed with the way he was able to resist being dragged into a slugfest at times.

Can anyone recommend any more of his fights?

    Miranda Abraham I

If thats not a reason to never fight in Germany I dont know what is. Without the 5 points taken off Miranda he would still lost a fight he lost at most 1 round in. He took first 5 easily as AA never does anything first 5 then an uppercut breaks his jaw off. Randy Newman lost control taking 2 off for a headbutt that did not affect the jaw. Not to mention the 'low blows' which were never low. Then letting 2 separate doctors work on his jaw on a timeout for a headbut. Also, pulling Mirandas off AA to ask him if hes ok is ridiculous. I thought at one stage Randy was gonna jump infront of AA and carry on with the fight for him.

AA never won that fight! Insane!

    Ruben Olivares Vs Jesus Pimentel

Great little fight this, with both have a combined Kayo record of 139 it was bound to have fireworks. This was the case after a coupe of quiet early rounds war breaks out in the 3rd as they stand and trade for pretty much the whole round. Something i hadn't seen much of before was the way Olivares threw a lead hook followed by a left uppercut, looked to do real damage when landed flush. The 4th started well again and halfway threw the round Olivares was nearly put down but managed to hang on. Things were heating up now and as Olivares was pinned on the ropes in the 6th, he turned Pimental and landed a few left hooks to stun Jesus and followed by a brutal overhand right to send Pimental through the ropes. He started to take alot of punishment and his corner eventually threw the towel in in the 11th.

    Israel Vasquez-Rafael Marquez I.

Good fight but tends to get overrated. Marquez is some boy to throw combos.

That's the poorest fight out of the trilogy (still better than a lot of other fights mind).

    Fight 3 > Fight > Fight 1 :deal...forget about the 4th one :-(

Just watched Gatti vs Wilson Rodriguez...Wow, just wow!

I'm gonna kick back and watch Tomas Rojas vs Nobuo Nashiro/Juan Jose Montes. I'll post about them afterwards.

yeah thats the odd thing about the Marquez-Vazquez trilogy, usually when you have fighters fighting rematches or trilogy's against each other the rematch and the third fight are usually not as good as the first fight. This trilogy just kept getting better with every fight:hat

The first fight was too one-sided really to be a genuinely top class fight.

Watching it back I'm kinda surprised there was a rematch to be honest.

Because of his style Gatti's ability gets underrated somewhat, IMO. He was really good at super feather and had a very good run. Rodriguez, Patterson and Ruelas ain't bad. Against Ruelas especially he threw every punch in the book with really good leverage and his body punching was pretty sensational too.

    Mayweather Jr. vs. Castillo 1.

Floyd clearly lost this fight IMO. He started well by winning the first 4 or 5 rounds, but Castillo swept the next 7/8 rounds. Castillo is just a pleasure to watch if you appreciate good pressure fighting, you can see just how much he learnt from Chavez.

On a sidenote: It's interesting to hear the HBO crew admit that Floyd had lost fight and that was when Floyd was in bed with them too.

His second fight against Patterson really showed off his underrated boxing skills, excellent performance.

Dawson Adamek. Chad was real motivated for this fight. 1ST world title fight a lot like Ward V Kessler. Just would not be denied.

Klit V Brewster. Klit has no inside game and Brewster just walked straight through him.
