    These are the guys Tyson didnt face for one reason or another but was active around in the same era

    How would Tyson have done against the following;
    (I left out Lewis/Holyfield because theres already a milion threads out there)

    You have to state which version of Tyson your talking about, whether its "Rooney" Tyson, "Pre prison" Tyson (Ruddock fights) or Post Prison Tyson (Holyfield 1)

    Mercer
    Moorer
    Foreman
    Cooper
    Morrison
    Briggs
    Tua
    Bowe
    Mcall
    Grant
    Rahman
    Ruiz
    Byrd

    More or less how i see it

    However i think your being a bit generous to Ruiz, Rahman and Byrd

    What would you say about the Tyson from the Ruddock fights? and post Prison Tyson?

    'Prime' Tyson (All in his favour unless stated otherwise)

    Mercer = UD 12
    Moorer = KO 10
    Foreman = Foreman KO 11 (Tyson wanted no part of Foreman)
    Cooper = KO 2
    Morrison = KO 9
    Briggs = KO 8
    Tua = KO 9
    Bowe = (Depends on what Bowe turns up) Either Bowe UD or Tyson KO 11
    Mcall = UD 12
    Grant = KO 6
    Rahman = KO 6
    Ruiz = (Possible Holyfield earbiting disqualification type thingy due to Tyson getting angry with Ruiz's constant holding) or Tyson KO 8
    Byrd = KO 7

    I think Bowe would beat him.
    Foreman and Tua might KO him.

    Ruiz could possibly clinch his way to hear the final bell, losing a lop-sided decision.
    All the others Tyson would KO or TKO.

    Foreman may have been dangerous for Tyson, we dont know, but who did Foreman actually beat around that time that showed he was good enough for Tyson? He lost to Holy, Morrison, Briggs and got his ass handed to him by Moorer and Stewart

    Tua would never beat Tyson. Anything Tua does, Tyson does better, for every punch Tua lands Tyson would land twice as much. Tyson could take what Tua dishes out (See Ruddock) but could Tua take what Tyson dished out?

    Ruiz doesnt last till 7, if Tua can take him out quick tyson most likely could.

    Byrd would go the same way as Tubbs

    Depends which version of Tyson your talking about?

    Agree with all the rest though

    1999 Old Evan Fields at 37 yrs old defeats '88 Tyson by 7-5 unanimous decision on teh 3 cards. '96 Mercer gives '88 Tyson a v.close war And wins 5 rounds. Past-Prime Tucker who Lewis beat survives 12 rounds And wins 4 rounds. Young Vitali of '99 probs takes '88 Tyson teh distance but only takes 3 rounds.

    He beat Bonecrusher and Ruddock. I can't think of two better examples from that era. Flip the argument and Foreman would have no good preparation unless you count Holyfield.

    '96 Golota VS '88 Tyson is a 50/50 madmen melee! Bites, butts, elbows, lowblows - you would see it all from both dirty bullys. One scum wins by DQ when teh other spits his dummy And fouls out like a spoilt brat.

    Did you see the second fight?

    And Foreman's perceived durability has something to do with his opposition too...he wasn't that durable in his younger days. If he truly had to go to war with a big puncher I think he could still be rocked.

    Ruddock was big and durable (and in shape) and even that wasnt peak Tyson. Bruno hit pretty hard too but lacked stamina. Flip the script, who did Foreman fight to show that he could hang with Tyson? (in terms of punchers)

    Tua is overrated and is Ike. They had a great fight together and other than that neither are really that relevant. Anybody who stood in front of Tyson got knocked out cold, simple as. Tyson did everything better than Tua. The guys who beat Tyson, all used, range and mobility and clinching and angles to tire Tyson out. Tua wouldnt do that, he would stand in front of Tyson.

    I dont see Byrd avoiding Tyson for long, secondly Byrd fights nothing like Tillis, he is more like Tubbs. Tyson is bigger, faster and stronger. Byrd woudl go same way as Frazier, Spinks and Norris

    Ruiz is a load of garbage, when was the last time he fought a puncher? yep, thought so...Tua and then Haye.
