Goin for Rhodes. Not been impressed with what i seen of Alvarez and really think Ryan can pull off a massive win here. This chance is well overdue and Rhodes will of trained and will fight like his life depends on it.If any fighter deserves it he does.

couldn't of put it better myself(well,im a bit illiterate anyhoo).
im not at all convinced by the ginger mexican,he can punch, but if that *** magic matt can catch him,and not look that bad,i sure as hell convinced a good hard puncher/boxer like rhodes can:deal

only problem i see with rhodes is he can be hit hard as the fights go on,and i am being british bias here,so im going for a rhodes win:bbb

Fair play to Rhodes for going to Mexico for this.

Likeable guy, I'd love to see him pull of an upset, but can't see it.

I remember when he used to fight like Naz, which meant getting caught with his hands down. Am glad he's since become a wiley veteran and better fighter and just hope he does himself proud in Guadalajara.

I've gone for dodgy points win for canelo. I know next to nothing about canelo, but he seems to have power to at least trouble opponents. Rhodes was wobbled to **** by Jamie Moore, however he came back well.
I think Rhodes has a style to give canelo some proper nightmares and scary moments in the fight.
Rhodes changes angles so well and has deceptive power. I think he can make canelo miss a lot, but the fact it's in Mexico means he needs to ko canelo, and I think canelo is wily enough to tie Ryan up.
Rhodes will cone out of this with a lot of credit, and will probably get a few more high profile fights on the back of this fight, but unless he can be the guy coming forward constantly, forcing the fight, he ain't getting a decision, and he ain't getting a stoppage.
Close, but it's all in favour of Alvarez. And as someone astutely said before: why would golden boy pit him in with someone they genuinely think could beat him unless it's on hbo ppv against someone like cotto.
However I'm behind Rhodes and will be cheering our boy on. He certainly won't disgrace himself.

Alvarez to win a clear UD

Wasn't that convinced with Rhodes' win over Moore, he could have quite easily been stopped at one point and Moore had a lot less in the tank than many people thought. A good win at the time but in hindsight not as great as I first thought. Aside from Moore, Rhodes' hasn't beaten anyone of note.

Alvarez's opposition may not be world class but it's certainly been better overall than Rhodes'.

Alvarez has never fought a full blown Light Middleweight, never mind a full blown light middle of Ryan Rhodes quality

If Alvarez approaches the fight the same way he did against MAtthew Hatton, he could be in big trouble. He was caught a lot in that fight because he believed he could just walk through Matthew and land his own punches (which to be fair he did in general). Rhodes being a naturally bigger man who punches harder should make Alvarez steer well clear of doing the same but if he has got into a poor mentality where he underestimates Rhodes, then Ryan has a chance.

But I do think that he will show Ryan the respect he deserves and show a more refrained, considerate approach like he did vs Baldomir . His punch output should be greater than Rhodes as well so in truth, I think if he is switched on enough, Alvarez will take a comfortable points decision in this.

Hope I'm wrong though and I hope Rhodes can do it

Rhodes is a much better shout then the odds shown but Alvarez too fresh and puts punches together with heavy hands so going Alvarez to win on stoppage around 9th round after some tight first 6

I believe Rhodes is fighting outside of the UK for the first time.

He is certainly being thrown in at the deep end with regards to location.

I got a feeling Canelo is going to stop him in the mid-rounds

And I think Rhode's quality is being overstated... his best win to date was against Moore, 2 years ago, and since then we can quite easily see that Moore was pretty close to being a spent force

Totally agree, I think Rhodes was a strange choice of opponent.

I really think we will se a frustrated Alvarez getting banged out!!!:bbb
