    He soundly beat Butterbean when he was 53 and Norton was 34, not 36.

    Especially as Holmes was in his prime when he lost to Spinks,McCall,Tyson ,and Holyfield .
    ps Holmes beat Butter Bean u dec.
    You bring up Norton's age but omit Holmes's when he began losing? Thats objective.:huh

    When did Williams and Weaver ever drop him? Out of 75 fights, Holmes was down in 4 of them.

    So out of 75 fights (facing some of the hardest punchers of all time), he was rocked a few times and only down in 4 of them. What a shameful chin he had.

    The Shavers punch that put him down was one of the biggest ever, and how shameful for the light puching Mike Tyson to knock him out past his prime!

    Holmes chin was sturdy... Never stopped in his prime, came off the deck to always beat his opponent.(Just not Tyson) Take a real close look and think, absolute prime Holmes... Who beats him ? Really? His chin was solid, tell me who else would climb off the deck against Shavers the way Holmes did? Holmes had great size, great reach, THE best jab in the history of heavyweights, sharp right hand /right uppercut (ask Weaver) and fantastic ring savvy. I see only Clay beating him, not sure about Ali... I`m not talking historical significance, but the whole package... He was the epitome of a great boxer/puncher...

    does anyone on here really think that Homes was prime for Spinks ????? I feel the end of Holmes prime was Cooney... Prime Holmes was never stopped, Lewis was stopped twice by very mediocre fighters. Now thats a bit chinny. Not trying to knock Lennox, but it is what it is...
