McCloskey vs Prescott would be a good fight to make. It's a reasonably low risk assignment that could get his name in the mix..... but he needs to be careful not to look like a Khan stalker. Get this one out of the way then look to force his way into a mandatory position.
Yeah, it would be a battle of the "who desperately wants a slice of the khan financial pie the most" boxers. What are the odds on both McCloskey and Prescott living out their days off Khans name, for one reason or the other.
He needs to get the Prescott fight a relatively small sum will ensure that he travels to Ireland and he is obviously a known face and its a winnable assignment that puts him in the mix.
It's worth noting that Prescott is ranked #6 by the WBA..... not obvious at all what they are eyeing up, is it? Prescott could come here and be dominated by someone like Ronnie Heffron (which wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility) and still be highly ranked..... and there'd still be posters on here clamouring for a rematch
Prescott will never fight McCloskey. Get real. Not because he's scared, but it's a fight he could lose and it won't be for a great deal of money. He knows the Khan card will come again some day and till then, he'll fight journeymen. For McCloskey, well, you'll probably see tune-up after tune-up till his chance at a title shot comes.
I think Prescott will take the Mccloskey fight, in order to beat Mccloskey in more convincing fashion than Khan did.
i have no interest in either prescott or mccloskey, but strangely id be interested in this fight if it was made...
