Marcus Browne. Southpaw who seems to have some real, pure skills. He can speak, do the dougie lol, and he has all the tools you need. 178 lbs right now. He's going to be fighting for a spot on the olympic team. Good kid too. Look out for him soon.

A long time ago, I was watching amateur boxing on msg, and they started showing amateur boxing from around the world, and they showed an amateur who I thought would be a future champion. He fought overseas, and he wowed the crowd with his back flip into the ring and with his skills. He wasn't an amateur here in the states, but they showed him anyway. His names was Naseem Hamed Hamed

Need to watch out for Vasyl Lomachenko. Nasty skills on that guy.

So much for your powers of prognostication...what did this Naseem guy ever amount to? :good

That's pretty neat you got to see him back then. I saw Oscar de la Hoya's 4th or 5th pro fight on USA Tuesday Night Fights...that's as early as I can think of seeing a future champion fight.

I wish they would show more amateur boxing around the world, or even in the US in general. MSG blocks out all boxing events for some reason. The only amateur boxing I've seen on TV the last few years is the Army Boxing tourney at West Point.

Do you know of any channels (even online) that shows amateur boxing occasionally?

Thanks for the heads up Blizz! Any idea on how big the kid is for the weight? Do you see him being a light heavyweight at the next level, or does he have the frame to move up?

I just happened to be channel surfing....caught his fight and said, the kid can box. I only catch those fights on directv on different channels.

6'2 and he'll be a cruiserweight imo. Fast combination puncher, and he goes to the body.

Ugh, that kind of sucks. Cruiserweight never gets its just due here so it'll be tougher for him to get as much exposure. Browne sounds promising though, I'll definitely keep an eye out for him. :good

I can vouch for Lomachenko, too. That kid's legit and has legit P4P talent once he goes pro.

I haven't consigned an amateur since Hamed, and before that Roy Jones...
