Michael Moorer and Ken Norton were two of the most successful glass jaws in heavyweight history. Joe Frazier was the absolute best fighter who Foreman was capable of steamrolling, unless you prefer Marciano. As a result, Foreman is badly overrated and wouldn't have been capable of being the top guys through the entire 80s, most of the 90s and most of the 00s--prime or not.

Tony Tubbs, minus drugs and plus a good training camp, beats almost all heavies who ever lived.

It will take more time than replying all the others. Currently I will have to concede that he is a borderline top 100 , and even this is only due to me still not knowing the entire history.

Bennie Briscoe would have decisioned MW Bernard Hopkins (95-2000)....with ease !
Floyd Mayweather Jr would have decisioned Kid Gavilan

    Ruddock beats Holyfield in '91.

Mosley doesn't get butted against Forrest and beats him handily. Chases Trinidad down at 154 and beats him before Hopkins has a chance.

If Basilio could block the bolo punch, for sure Mayweather could.

but your first statement ... Briscoe was a plodding type of knockout fighter. The absolute worst type of fighter to try to take Hopkins ... especially by decision! He has a better chance of knocking him out.
Hopkins is more troubled by FAST guys who flurry and move and are hard to hit and take good shots (prime Jones, Calzaghe, early in the fight with Oscar, Taylor) Briscoe was completely outboxed off the back foot by Hagler flawless victory style, something Hopkins could have done with ease, being EVEN TALLER and LONGER than Hagler.

did you see how Hopkins completely shut down the offense of Glen Johnson? UTTER DOMINATION. He would have shut down Bennie that way too.

Mayweather might frustrate Gavillan, though. His defense is special for sure.

I wonder how unpopular this one is....

Even after the Thrilla in Manilla, Ali is still a head to head nightmare because of his ticker. Refusal to lose in the amounts Muhammad had it still get him past 90% of history's heavyweight crop, possibly more.

While Muhammad Ali was at his physcial best whe he was forced out of the sport in 1967, due to his still very good skills, great chin and ring savvy he was a better all around boxer from 1971 to 1975.

Vitali would have an easier time beating any fighter in the history of boxing then Wladimir, but Wladimir would beat Vitali H2H.

Prime for Prime - Winky Wright would have beaten Floyd Mayweather.

Prime Lennox Lewis is a tougher out than he gets credit for. Head to head he is Top 5.
