Hagler vs. Hearns. Two greats closest to their prime who fought tops in the opening round. I was watching the fight on a tv in scambled mode but I could see Hagler throwing bombs and Hearns right coming out over and over. Just all offense. Then the radio announcer comes on the radio with between rounds reports from Vegas whose name was Rory Markus and says "wow!! at this pace this fight isn't going to last very long"!

the interesting thing is I think this fight happened like this because both guys in their mind knew they could stop the other guy. There is no other reason they would both come out like that. I am surprised neither guy went down in round one or that it lasted out of that round.

:lol:i just realized we're talking about this same fight in two totally different threads

    two things:

    1) yes but why hearns thought he could stop hagler is beyond me
    2) anyone critizing hearns' chin, watch this fight, rewind, watch it again, then shut up

are we really? yeah I get confused on these threads. They were both young and cocky at the time and they were mad at each other. Hearns had just knocked out Duran and he thought if he could stop Duran he could stop Hagler. And Hagler thought he could stop Hearns. Both guys had the same thing in mind. Yeah Hearns chin actually held up to some great punches in round one.

thank you for summing everything up perfectly. the ferocity and the fact that neighter man went down in the war makes it even more great. two guys , both at the top of the mountain at the same time. somebodys gotta go..i dont know how hagler ate those right hands right off the bat.. nobody survives those

Hearns Hagler, round 10 Deigo/Castillo. a lot to choose from. Not everyone will have the same one. I love the no feeling out round of Hagler vs. Hearns. They just unleashed punches without defense.
