Why didn't Oscar vs Tito 2 happen??

The first fight sucked. Hard. **** wanting to see that **** again.

 

Yea Tito took a 60/40 split in the first fight and wanted DLH to do the same..but he didn't..:-(

 

Oscar said he brawl with Tito if they had a rematch...I wish he woulda done that in the first..Tito woulda stopped him late or DLH woulda won a close decision..

 

Tito got to fat way to fast.

 

DLH didnt want to spare a few mil...Tito said they chased a rematch with Bhop too but he refused numerous times to no avail. I miss the good old days!

 

Quite rightly. Trinidad deserved a better share as the winner of the first fight (however controversial) but De La Hoya was easily the larger draw.

Maybe and honestly i wont disagree... But Tito made half as much for losing to Hops...

he knew Oscar had his numberdeal

 

Tito's fight and purse w/ Hops had nothing to do with DLH. The talks of the rematch were dead years before.

 

165 probably closer to a realistic fight for both to meet. And i'd watch it!

As others have said, money and weight were the issues.

I actually think a second fight would have been much better. Oscar was being crucified by the fans for the way he fought, specifically in the last few rounds. He was hurt by the criticism and I think he would have fought Tito in a re-match the same way he fought Shane, in order to prove he wasn't a "chicken".

Of course, that would have played right into Tito's hands ...

 

The usual reasons fights don't happen.

I think a second fight at 154 would have been much more entertaining than the first fight at 147, and I think it would have been pretty even.

 

As much as a warrior as tito is, he knew oscar would tax that ass.
