Ortiz is just hammering away at will now, landing left uppercuts and straight leads. Ortiz is just jabbing to keep Pineda lined up, not even trying to land anything except those big left-handed power shots. Pineda desperately tries to maneuver through the fire and get in close to grab but Ortiz is just flinging him off like a ragdoll with disturbing ease, almost having to do no more than simply flex his muscles to send Pineda flying. Ortiz is landing well but sort of smothering his own work by letting Pineda hang in just inside his effective range.

We're already at the halfway mark, which is surprising.

If Ortiz doesn't wake up, this is going the distance. That is NOT a favorable comparison drawn against the smaller Tomasz Adamek's result over the same opponent at Cruiserweight. Ortiz is supposed to be a major heavyweight KO threat.

 

Round 5

Ortiz is really getting obnoxious. He's throwing a right jab or a telegraphed loose-armed left, landing it, and then letting whichever hand he just landed with hang limply at his side swinging lazily. Ortiz looks like he's sleepwalking in there and yet still thoroughly kicking poor Pineda's ass. Here comes a rally by Pineda, driving through with a sequence of five straight punches as Ortiz just leans back and doesn't bother bringing his arms up. The assault is soon quieted as Ortiz resumes his own offensive flow and puts Pineda back on his heels.

Pineda down! Slip? Ortiz pummels away at him as though he were trying to finish off a downed opponent anyway. THERE IS A REAL KNOCKDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!! Looping left caps off a flurry and leaves Pineda faceplanted and OUT COLD!!!!!!!

DAMN!!! PINEDA IS IN BAD TROUBLE!!!!! Doctors and others rushing to him!!!!

Flipped over on his back; Pineda can't focus his eyes.

Left hand, then a short right hook with Ortiz following all the way through with it and actually smashing his right shoulder into Pineda's face (although the hook alone would have kayoed him). Pineda spun around in the air as he was falling flat on his face.
