Superb Bam Bam.I've seen most of his big fights but one of these days I'm going have a night of just cramming in as many Sweet Pea fights as I can.

Pea had it all, except for one punch power. He could box better than anyone and fight as well as any of the fightersa round when he wanted to. After he beat Greg Haugen he seem to turned into a more agressive offensive fighter. Especially when he moved up to light-welter, when he had to face bigger stronger men. He planted his feet more and dug in when he had to.

 

Thanks mate,yeah the tune is class and so was Pea.The way he dodged punches was crazy.

(7:16) Nazario was coming off a win over Rosario, one of the hardest punchers at 135lbs as you know, and also the only man to previously stop him. Pea was not a consistent banger, but hit with real spite I reckon, and is in possession of some savage stoppages, as you also know.

I'm sure you'll agree that his lack of regularly concussive power doesn't harm him too much ;-)

He was never a one punch knockout hitter, against a high quality of opposition in the higher weight classes of 140 and 147, but Pea had some power no doubt about it. Especially at lightweight, where he could drop almost anyone if he landed on the button. Nobody could ever walk through his punches either, even up at 147. He always hit hard enough to make everyone respect him. I went through his whole career a few weeks ago, and its interesting to see how effective a pressure fighter he was after and indeed in the Haugen fight. Against Harold Brazier, Poli Diaz, Hugo Pineda and several others he put the pressure on bigger stronger men and they couldnt deal with it.

Yep, a lot of people don't realise what he was like on the inside, they look at his k.o% and the fact he's a renowned 'pure boxer' and assume he's always on the back foot.

EVen past his best he stood in front of Trinidad at 147 :nut

 

I recently watched the Haugen fight, he surgically took him apart.

still got Mayweather, De La Hoya, Trinidad and Jacobs to watch.
