SUMMER SMASH: Jackson Asiku vs. Choi Tseveenpurev RBR

Round 3

Asiku is throwing hooks while jumping around in orbit of Choi, and is nearly paying for his recklessness as Choi continues to hone in and loop his power toward him. NICE sequence by Asiku, fluttering all around Choi landing hard uppercuts to the head and making the rat-tail end of his mullet flap. Choi jabs to the body. Asiku is landing nice uppercuts on the move, but Choi is pounding him to the body and affecting him very significantly. Asiku is wincing away with involuntary backward steps every time Choi plugs him with a pair of body shots under his guard. Asiku dives in with his jab and takes a right hand across the throat, not flush. The crowd loved it anyway.

Round 4

Choi stalks and gets jabbed at, taking most on the gloves. Asiku tries to hook him back and manages to wind Choi back to the ropes. Asiku is able to move him but doesn't seem eager to stay inside range and backs off without pressing his advantage. Choi blocks jabs and waits. Asiku throws a wild uppercut. Choi lands a high jab. Asiku circles and paws, jab missing. Choi ducks back into the corner as Asiku comes in hooking, then responds with a pair of body shots driving Asiku across the ring. Left upper-hook by Choi, partially blocked on the back of the glove but catching some chin. Wild uppercut by Asiku. Choi is walking him down well now. HARD RIGHT HAND, pushes Asiku's guard away and allows Choi to get in a few more digs before Asiku wheels off the ropes.

Round 5

Choi is jabbing to the body in doubles. Now a pair of hooks as Asiku wriggles and slips away. Choi is pressuring intently, keeping his jab up high. Hook feint by Choi. Asiku is backed into the ropes without being touched. Choi keeps himself hunched up tight and lands a good right hand as a chant of his name erupts. NICE 1-2 to the body by Choi. Clubbing right hand by Choi! Jab to the chin, and a few more hard whacks by Choi as Asiku backs away. Asiku sticks his jab, which his corner is screeching for. Asiku is walked to the ropes and just barely rolls down and away from another clubbing right hand that slides down his shoulder. Asiku is ignoring his corner and whipping those wild upprecuts, and Choi is catching him in the exchanges. Very good round for Choi as he blasts away with his left hook and right hand, taking shots in return but doing more damage.

Round 6

Ugly stuff now, both throwing in high crescents and getting gummed up in crossfire. Either man's round to take over nearing the halfway point. Asiku lets his jab fly as he dances around on the outside, just pot shotting. Choi isn't pressing in, just watching and advancing at a crawl. Asiku lands a lead right and just misses a wild follow-up hook. Choi loads up a big right hand with maximum power and leans all the way over with the momentum of it as Asiku backs out of the way. Double jab by Asiku, over the head of Choi as the smaller man targets the body.

10-9 Asiku

Round 7

Choi is leaping at him with huge left upper-hooks, not landing them but gaining lots of ground as Asiku beats a hasty retreat. Asiku misses a lead right and is FLOORED BY A CHOI LOOPING SHOT!!!!!!!!! Asiku bounces off the bottom rope before scrambling to his feet. CHOI IS ON THAT ASS! Asiku manages to get his legs under him and get his jab going, in survival mode. Choi stalks, ducking and measuring. Choi hops in place and throws a right to the body. Clubbing right upstairs. Asiku dances out of range. Choi walks him down, and traps him near the ropes. Right to the body by Choi. Asiku circles wide. Choi is on him and letting loose with frenzied attacks. Momentary stream freeze!! :rant

10-8 Choi

 

Round 8

Choi is pressing in and cracking away with leaden lefts and rights. Asiku gets his jab going and tries to put uppercuts behind it. Choi just shovels his fists into him and manages to club him down with the right hand, Asiku assisting by already leaning over to begin with. Asiku is pushed to the ropes and smashed with several hard knocks, blocking a good deal but getting his chin resoundingly stamped. Asiku looks to be in some trouble!! Asiku lands well now, spinning Choi to the ropes momentarily. Asiku jabs at him and throws a wide hook as he backs Choi again to the ropes. Wild exchange before the bell.
