for sure. if he's not rated in the top 15 now, i really feel a win over the only viable challenger left not named vitali will seal the deal

    He is basicaly there now.

If he lost to Haye he would have a case.

That's what I think, but after going through other threads some people don't even have him in the top 20 (maybe because he is still active).

Gets pretty soft once you're outside of 14, I don't think there's anything really wrong with having him at 15 if he beats Haye.

  6. he is alrdy top 15 IMO .
    vitali top 20 .
just needs to beat haye , povetein, adamek , possibly his own bro to get near top 10 imo..

I don't know about top 15 "All-Time", but he's already entitled to be called a very good/great champion of an era, he's been the foremost heavyweight fighter in a 5-year period.
    He deserves a mention.

If he beats Haye too easily people will just see Haye as one of the lesser fighters he beat.
Chambers and Byrd had better resumes.

The top 3 names on his resume would be Haye, Chagaev, and Byrd. Not really impressive. The losses hurt, and they hurt badly. I don't have him top 20 now, and a win over David Haye doesn't really cover much ground in my mind. Top 15's attainable, but he needs more than David Haye to get there for me.

wlad's placement is almost solely determined by the value placed on consistency

in the end, there's not much distance from his top 3 wins and his 10th, 11th and 12th best wins. he has no signature win (yet) and if longevity at the end isn't as much of a factor as quality of opposition, then top 15 may be a tough sell

I would argue that if Wlad beats Haye he will have 10 title defenses (not including WBO, which would put him at 15) which is more than any HW champ except about 5 (Louis, Holmes, Ali, Lewis, someone else I can't think of).

He doesn't have a signature win on his resume, but Haye is arguably one of the best cruiserweights of all-time and has a HW title and has defended it.

Already done enough for me. Since 04 wlad has beaten everyone he's fought, spent 6 years as the best heavyweight in the world, spent 2 years as the recognised champion on the world. Look at the top name and he's beaten a lot of them.

Wins over haye, adamek, povetkin, helenius, arreola will see him through the next couple of years and will put forth a very good argument for top 10. He's beaten the best of his era aside from his own brother. His losses to purrity and sanders were before his prime imo. Since then he's beaten everyone he's faced.

Wlad is all ready top 15 now. Compare his vs the field of history on winning percentage, ko%, title defenses, ect...

Haye will be his fiftieth knockout!

It depends on the type of loss. I think Wlad's all time great status is really up for grabs at the moment. His losing performances and the performances by those he beats in the future will go a long, long way towards finding his place. He could go up and down, massively at the moment.

i don't think he could go up massively at the moment to be honest. it almost seems like people are hoping for reasons to lower him in the rankings whereas wlad could only go up so much for beating haye and another random contender after

He's probably close if not already there.

I wouldn't see Haye as doing that much for his resume.

    He's had better wins.

Now if Haye were to win, that would be a considerable boost to his legacy.
