1) You cant look impressive with a guy who doesn't want to fight whether it's mma or boxing. Dude would just fall on the round. 2) You can't expect to win falling on the ground. Just pathetic. 3) Overeem is a good fighter. Will prolly be underated after this fight since "your only as good as your last fight" but he did what he had to & it's time to move on.
That was an awful fight. Overeem didn't seem to respect Werdum's striking at all, and neglected defense all night. He was relying on one big power shot, which allowed Werdum to connect a lot more than he should have. He is a lot better than that fight showed. It reminded me of Leites/Silva, except maybe worse. Very happy with Masvidal, though. I have been a fan of his for a while, and it's good to see him actually show up and perform in a high profile fight. He destroyed Noons in every aspect. I don't know how he will fare against Gil, but it should be a fantastic fight either way.
Lol at everyone hating on the fight We had the best HW striker in the world vs the best HW ground game in the world and they cancelled each other out I enjoyed every minute of it
Werdum seemed to be get the best of him when the fight was standing, but you just can't expect to win trying to hump the ground like a ******
X2 these guys that just want to flop on the ground are the equivalent of John Ruiz in Boxing. They don't want to fight they want to roll around on the ground. Werdum is a disgrace. He is the one that ruined the fight not Overeem.
Yep, the strategies contrasted so much that it really created a void in action. I'm still surprised at how tired Overeem was though. The dynamic between him and Bigfoot will be different and he would go for more striking gnp. But I think Silva has a huge endurance advantage over Overeem after what I saw.
I don't know about that. I recall Bogfoot gassing pretty badly against Werdum and looking pretty tired after the second round against Fedor.
Just shows how one dimensional these BJJ guys are. They can't do anything but lay on the ground. Who wants to watch that crap?
Yeah it was a **** fight style wise. Even so Overeem didn't look great when they were standing and striking. Thought he would have a massive advantage there.
Dude, I love the ground game probably more then anyone here and even enjoy some of the "Boring" fights because of techniques that are fairly esoteric but I'll be damned if that wasn't a bore-****.
