Man everytime I see him, he amazes me on how good he is at only 20. Hes not your typical mexican fighter. The whole fight he kept his hands up, good footwork, very accurate, good defense, underated speed, and the best of all......BODY WORK!!!

PPL can say he fought somebody sorry or something like that but Rhodes was a top 10 LMW and Canelo spanked him without a sweat. I dont see anybody at 154 then can hang expect for Cotto and I kinda dont want Cotto to fight him because thats a very dangerous fight.

Chavez jr is no where near this guy. I'm just surprised on how good he is at only 20, hes gonna be ruling this boxing world in less then 24 months. I dont know who he should fight next but nobody beats him at 154. I say 2 more fights this year then Cotto next spring for a super fight.

    Exactly...

Good timing, great defense when he respects the opponent, poise... calm and patieint in dismantling his opponents... under rated speed I agree, great TIMING which makes him look much faster.. and hits HARD not one PUNCH KO.. but definitely has power that gets respected by his opponents.

He completely dominated Rhodes and did not allow him to do anything.. he accomplished that by beautiful feints, timed shots to the body and face...

    and actually counter punching...

    great promising future.

    his uppercuts are sick...

but he tends to keep his hands down when he throws those combinations.

somebody is going to exploit that.

    :deal

He's a great prospect with a lot of potential. One of the best boxers right now? Gimme a break. He beat Ryan Rhodes, not Miguel Cotto, not Paul Williams, not Sergio Martinez. When he starts beating guys like them, we can start calling him one the best boxers.

too bad his last 2 fights have been against guys who havent given him a challenge. too early to tell if he is the real deal, yet. hatton gave him all he could handle and he still couldnt finish him

To be the best you got to beat the best. :patsch

Sergio Martinez, Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto, Paul Williams would all beat Canelo. Cintron and Angulo would have a good chance of beating him also. He's only 20 after all, he needs a lot of work.
