Duran, Chavez, Trinidad, all had their fair share of haters.......I would say Alexis Arguello was the only true modern great Latino fighter who the masses from all races loved. Arguello was the ultimate gentleman in and out of the ring. Its Alexis and its really not even debateable.
I could see that but he was not as big as Duran in the 70's and 80's when most latinos looked at him as their hero!!!
It has to be Arguello. I knew several that didnt like Morales or Duran. I think everyone loved Arguello.
True, I understand but he wasn't known until the Pryor fights by most fans. Duran was a legend in the 70's and became iconic in the 80's I got to respectfully disagree.
Nope, Arguello fights were routinely broadcast on saturday and sunday afternoons on CBS and ABC boxing on free tv. The Pryor fight did not make Arguello. Arguello was the known commodity there, and it was Pryor who gained notoriety when he fought and beat Arguello. How old are you Seckah, because you're just wrong about this. The thread question asks, "who was the last Latino boxer loved by all?" Its now asking who's the best or who is the most famous, it asks "who was loved by all"......and to that question the answer is Arguello and its not even close.
