How do you see this kid in a couple of years?

How do you rate his skills at this point?

p00ckerh00cked's mong ramblings aside, i think he's a solid fighter. puts his hands together very well and throws punches like a trigger. I've noticed that he still hits quite well past the 8th round which is a great ability to have. Like RC said I wish his lead work was a tad better, but he has a good left hook. Look forward to how he develops.

He impressed me, because Rhodes is allot better than given credit for, very mature, very strong, powerful. The way he applies pressure, by the threat of counter punching while stalking his pray and picking his punches so well walks his man down. Very good combination puncher. Still he is hittable, he needs to continue to improve his defense, flatfooted too and a little lazy.

Young Alvarez, looks like facially at least, like a young Jerry Quarry. Having said that, I have some doubts that he will someday be a great fighter. He has charisma, freckles, and looks, but we will see how far he goes. I hope I'm proven wrong...

Whilst describing Matthew Hatton as a "piece of ****" is debatable i've got to go with this.

Hatton is not a puncher, is not world-class, came from a division below and is there to be hit. That's a black mark IMO, even though it's a youngster winning. And I don't often say that.

    Suspect. I'm far from convinced.

BTW, this is the second fight running this guy's go this own thread in Classic directly after a fight, which is interesting.

Rhodes is a step up from Hatton though, genuine 154lber, tricky opponent and could bang

****ing Masterful performance by a young 20 year old kid.

He did not allow Rhodes to do anything with his calm patient, dismantling of Rhodes with beautiful and timed Body shots, great defense with feints, and IMO good footwork and ring IQ. What I loved the most were the timed shots to the head and great looking combos, uppercuts, shots that looked weirdly awesome and are not usually thrown by a developing 20 year old kid. The way he would just wait for a counter punch but stalk at the same time was nice to see...

I can't wait until he fights the best because IMO he is ready... he himself said he is ready for the devil if he had to. So Angulo should be next in MEXICO in the Mayweather double header.

As the competition increases so will he.

He flows good crisp combos, but this dude rhodes looked like garbage. I can't believe rhodes is even in the top ten. Canelo is very young and should only get better in a couple more years. I remember just a few years back I thought Bojato was the next big thing and we all know how that turned out.

He's fun to watch and I can't dislike him. I only saw his last two fights and to his credit, they were over before they started. I don't think he lacks hand speed. Some of his punches look akward though - like he's clubbing his opponent. Roy Jones said he had one punch power but in the fights I saw it was more of a steady bludgeoning. Both guys (Hattons and Rhodes) faces showed the wear and tear.

Is it possible that Rick Astley retired from music and set up shop in Jalisco?

What was all the comotion in the stands?
