it is un acceptable, to me it is, I understand what the author is trying to say though at the end of the day its the fighters job to win the fight no matter what it takes..
But last nights fight, Jason wasnt given an chance to take a Knee even if he wanted to...

Exactly. Not when you are hurt like that. Being stunned...yes you can think fast and go to a knee, but truly hurt...while its been done before, its rare to take a knee when a man is unloading bombs.

Disagree. Taking a knee could mean the difference between a win or a loss.

It isn't a question of heart.

It's a question of situation awareness, intelligence, and training.

Those who have all three of the above will probably take one when needed.

There is NO shame in taking a knee, especially if you are able to rally back to win.

People are acting like taking a knee is equatable to quitting, which is just ****ing ******ed.

    1. Can people give examples of where a knee would have won a fighter the fight? (taylor-Froch?)

The experienced Judah took a knee against Matthysse and ended up winning the bout. Call it weak if you want but its smart. I would rather take a knock-down in a bout than in the rankings. Its so hard to get back

Well, obviously it's impossible to say for sure that someone absolutely would have come back to win if only they'd taken one - but there are hundreds, probably thousands of examples where you could say there was a chance.

Pretty much any time someone with a reasonably good chin just stood up on the ropes taking bombs with their hands down but not quite out on their feet yet (ie still theoretically able to have enough wits to think to go down for a quick break) ultimately went on to get stopped shortly after the sequence and as a direct result of it.

Liakhovic took a knee when he was getting blasted by Brewster on the ropes. It paid off and he came back to win the fight, convincingly.

I always remember Pavlik-Taylor I. Taylor just let Pavlik tee off in the corner, maybe four times. Pavlik was down on the score cards too.

For the life of me I can't remember a fighter taking a knee and coming back to win. Could just be forgetting though, any one got any examps?

You guys never read the threads anymore.

As I stated earlier, Judah vs Matthysse for a more recent example.

    Do your boxing homework G.

:yep He should have taken a knee, but you have to think as a boxer in the moment. You fight your hardest not to go down and don't like going down on their own will

taking a knee is qutting to the extent that you are basically saying that I cant accept this no more and am going down before I am hurt too bad or maybe I am hurt real bad already

A ref can stop the fight if a fighter takes a knee
