is it me or did the overeem and werdum suck?

i mean come on every fight on that card was good except that one
antonio silva is gonna destroy overeem if he fights like this

but barnett looked really good....man handled brett rodgers

It was just you. My pick for fight of the year so far.

 

Overall I really enjoyed the card. However, the main event was a let down. I thought that Overeem looked incredibly subpar. Makes sense considering that he really hasn't beat anyone worth writing home about. Werdum was honestly making Overeem look bad on his feet... however, I am sure much of that was due to Reem being so concerned about the takedowns. In the end though... Reem did next to nothing the entire fight. Werdum wore himself out playing that game too damn much, and should have worked more on capitalizing on the success that he as having while on his feet. they probably both would have tapped out or passed out if it were a 5 round fight. The conditioning was absolutely awful.

Barnett did look very good... but then again I would expect that against Rodgers....who I don't hold in a high regard. I like Barnett and I enjoy his personality, but I thought that his speech was corny and over the top. Also, it seemed silly being called the baby faced assassin when he looked like a lumberjack.

I am pretty sure that KJ Noons was in fact hit with the kitchen sink (more than once) in that fight. Really impressed with Masvidal. He looked really solid everywhere.

Daniel Cormier was impressive, but didn't really blow me away. I think that he still has a long way to go before he should be fighting for a title. His stamina doesn't seem to be a problem, but that is in a fight that he is completely dominating and not really stepping on the gas pedal. I would much rather see him get into really great shape and fight at 205.

 

overeem vs werdum was a huge bummer

 

Both Overeen's sucked. The first brother to fight has no heart at all. I couldn't believe he tapped out from those punches he was taking. The main event sucked big time.

 

Round 1 of Overeem/Werdum was one of the funniest I've ever seen.

Also, despite looking like a pretty boy, Noons is one tough, tough son of a *****.

 

I agree the main event was a major disapointment although I always knew that Werdum pulling guard alot was a strong possibility.

Noons has always been a tough SOB. He describes himself as a fighter and that's exactly what he is. That guy could easily become a fan favourite in the UFC. He reminds me of Arturo Gatti but with a better chin.

 

All MMA sucks, and Overeem saying how hed have loved the opportunity to spank a peak Tyson just made him look beyond pathetic.
