Well done Sky

At risk of starting off the tourettes syndrome brgade who enjoy throwing abuse in all directions here and who have probably never been to a big fight, let alone had the balls to step into a boxing ring, I would like to say well done to sky for their coverage of the Rhodes fight today. Excellent panel. Hatton-who knows exactly what Alvarez has, Moore-who knows exactly what Rhodes has, Nelson-who has known Rhodes for decades and had the balls to say, at the end of the broadcast, that he should be considering his furture, and Rawling-Watt combination who got it spot on. Those who slag Ryan should be ashamed. Alavarez is class - end of. Let's see who is the first to beat him...... perhaps they will be writing that in about 2015. Until then, give credit. As for Sky, I say thanks for showing the fight and supporting the sport I love. I hope their bosses don't read the crap some of you f#####s write on here, because without Sky nobody would be moaning at all in the UK because the sport would not be shown.

 

poor in what way? In defending a broadcast that was actually pretty good. What is poor is slagging off broadcats for no good reason

 

ok, point taken. But the hard-man rhetoric adopted on here by the knockers irritates me beyond measure. Fighters, and i know a few, know sky do a good job. They also respect people like Jamie Moore, who have fought their hearts out repeatedly and now have opinions to value. As for those who knock Jim Watt, he has been a perceptive analyst for more than 30 years. And those who aren't old enough to remember might like to consider, he was also a hell of a fighter and genuinely hard. I take your point, because I believe we are coming from the same place, but what I said in the first place applies elsewhere.

 

I said, point taken. However, is little short of pathetic to see the same 20 or thirty people banging on week after week about 'Nelson is ****. Sack Watt. Rawling is awful, and Smith, and Darke. And what does McCrory know. Piper is crap, Woodhall has a **** accent,.' Internet forums are terrific when there is proper debate. When it degenerates into a Life of Bryan style stoning, it is worthless.
All I am saying, in my humble, is that Sky -by and large - deserve a great deal more praise than criticism and without them British boxing, at the moment, would be in an extremely parlous state.

 

We ask a lot if we expect a fighter to read brilliantly from a teleprompter. Smith, Darke and Rawling know a decent body shot, but they wouldn't look great throwing one.
There is Sturm-Macklin and haye-Klit coming up. Then the two ****** shows (and Murray-Mitchell could be epic). Then Amir-Judah on Prime. Boxing fans are actually getting it pretty good, and I am not afraid to say how much I am enjoying it, even if the tourettes club are not.

 

Why can't I say ******, in a non-abusive context. I actually think F.rank's next shows look likely to be excellent.

 

Them who know the technicalities (and I'm not one) would be able to explain why ppv sysptems go into melt down when there is massive demand on the night. Prime had this happen for froch and Khan fights, and I sky I think for the Mayweather-Hatton fight. (At least I had friends in various parts of the country who had problems) As a result, fans can't get their view sorted so have to take refuge in trying to get on some dodgy stream. Sky are offering cheaper rate before the night to try and take the heat off demand on the night and stop the ppv system craching.... at least the that is the understanding of my technologically simple mind. There will be 1 million plus going for it in all probability, and I will be getting the cheap option by signing up early.
