Canelo would beat Cotto

It would be a competitive fight and awesome... Can he pull off the win? Yes. It would be very hard... and would cement him as one of the best.

I think Canelo would take it late TKO or by UD.

Cotto would try and box... and might be a little more experienced in the boxing game so I can also see a Cotto UD.

Two big body punchers... and similar styles...

I'd like to see him fight a Cintron or Angulo before Cotto. Cotto has alot of experience, and Steward will have him boxing in this fight.

I think Alvarez needs a little more seasoning, IMO. And Arum will never allow Cotto to fight Alvarez, so...

 

I doubt Golden Boy would allow their ascending superstar to fight Cotto

then move up to bigger thing like cotto/cintron/williams in 2012...

I still think CANELO just needs a couple more competitive fight to learn and then he will be ready for the big time, although if he were to be fed to the elite, I think he would do good enough now..

He is very experienced and patient for his age showing great skills for a young guy.

If you guys think Cotto is a Shot Baldomir, a Welterweight Hatton or a poor Ryan Rhodes, you're sadly mistaken.

 

Both promoters would be reluctant at the present time. Maybe down the road like 2012

GBP can slowly build canelo into a big super star with mayorga next.

Cotto has a big $$$ maker in redemption COTTO/MARGO which Arum would not ruin.

 

Cotto is already in for a world of hurt in the coming next fight's...

I would say definately not.

Canelo is good , but has yet to face someone of Cotto's level.

18 months time he will be a monster.

 

I agree that Alvarez has several physical advantages over Cotto but Steward is the X factor here. Despite being very mature for his age, Canelo simply doesn't have the seasoning or composure(yet) to manage a 12 round fight againt an opponent of Miguel Cotto's stature. Cotto TKO 11.
