The first big clash as we meet the Russians and Con Sheehan went down valiantly in a close contest with NURMAGOMEDOV on PTS,22 :19
    R1 4 : 3
    R2 7 : 8
    R3 11 : 8
A good performance and a dose of reality for us all.

No shame in that. Although I've never seen that Russian, I'd imagine their entire squad consists of great boxers given their success last year.

Haye is gonna come swingin for the first 2 or 3 and if he cant get wlad out in them hes gonna run run run until 11 or 12, haye keeps sayin he has skill and all but if it turns into a technical fight wlad will tear haye apart but haye wont allow that if its not goin his way he'll hop on his bike!

I'd agree with that. I hate the Haye ****. I know Wlad isn't exactly a big bag of excitement but I can't stand Haye. I don't mind all the bollocks talk to try hype himself up but he's talking shite about Wlad not fighthing anyone and he's hardly taken on all comers at HW. Barrett, Ruiz (a good 6 or so years past his prime), 12 rounds on his bike against Valuev and then the shambles against Audrey.

I won't be shelling out €22 for it thats for sure. I'd love to see Wlad absolutely spark him but I have a horrible feeling he's going to land one pot shot.

Id still like to see Haye win just to see Klitschko being ko'd and see a different champ for a while, although the klitschkos are serious boxers with v good skill and power, there just boring as hell, but if haye wins he'll go straight into retirement sayin he is and was the best blah blah after fighting one good heavyweight and one out of a bad bunch that is

Thats exactly why I don't want Haye to win! He's done nothing much of note so far and will look to run off into the sunset like he's some kind of ring legend if he pulls off the win. He won't ever register in my top 100 HW's of all time anyway.

Yeah, the **** will be on the other foot when he steps in with Wladimir. By the way, does anyone know what time Macklin is into the ring in Germany? Will those attending the shows here be forced to miss it, I wonder.... Hope not, luckily there are a few pubs close to the Stadium so I'll hop in there.

Yeah I think he beat John Duddy in three national finals....he was like Duddy's bogey opponent, he just couldn't seem to get the better of him. Your uncle must have been a great boxer himself to get so close to Mick.

Pity Roche just missed out on the opportunities boxers were given 5/6 years later. With the grants and all that who knows how well he could have done. I suppose the same can be said of dozens of Irish senior champions throughout the decades previous to the high performance!
