In all fairness Broner already has been exploited. I mean did he really beat Ponce De Leon? I thought it was a bit of a robbery myself. Ponce De Leon would beat Burns as well. He's a lot better than Martinez.
I felt that it was a robbery. Ponce was a bit less agressive than normal in that fight, but he still did enough to deserve the decision. I genuinely thought he was gonna get it too. And getting lucky against a small Ponce De Leon isn't exactly A-grade ****.
Yeah it was certainly not irrefutable. But before the Burns fight I would not of argued too much with someone who said he was #1 in the division. So it would be unfair for me to say that now to spite Burns. People put alot of stock, rightly or wrongly, in him being one of the few undefeated fighters in there. But he beat better fighters than Nicky Cook, even if they didnt hold a 'title'. Like i said, its hard to gauge fighters in that division because its pretty open. There are no clear top dogs, or even a decently defined top ten.
Ok, Mr. Pick Holes In Jpab's theories, he'll be further exploited. Yeah PDL would more than likely beat them all at SFW, which is a sad indictment of the division.
Agreed with some of the thoughts already posted here. Regardless of who won between Broner and PDL, both of them beat Burns.
Poor Ricky Burns better hold onto that belt tight, because he's swimming with the sharks. Well, maybe not poor Ricky Burns. Sounds like he's going to get his arsehole chewed off. Still, there looks like competition ahead.
