I saw different. I saw Haye rambling on verbally - then Wlad tripping Haye up on himself and making him feel a little foolish. Your talking about a intellgient man here - he has got resolve to deal with big mouths and big ego types like Haye.
Haye oozes self belief not just in front of camera's. Saw him in Brixton and he made himself known as he drove threw with window done reggae blasting out. July 2nd he will walk to ring with smile on face ready to end Wlad's reign.
Its hard to read anything into these as you do the talking with your fists. But... Im liking Haye's attitude in the build up to it and more confident than ever hell do it.
Yeah sure he is a confident geezer. But everyone meets their match - its all relative to what he is facing. He might of be smug and sure of himself fighting Maccarinelli and the rest. But he is up against the most Dominant Heavyweight since Lennox Lewis here.
There's a big difference between being scared in the way you're talking and being nervous. The face off was the first time Haye came face to face with Wlad without all the stunt bull**** of press conferences, hangers on and staged bravado. He was definately nervous but scared..... no. Haye obviously has this gameplan of winding Wlad up and he did very well to stick to that task. In that interview it would have been very easy to tone down the abuse/derision but he stuck to his guns. This is not David Haye's natural persona. He's forcing this trash talk out of himself and that's very obvious from the outside. But Wlad is taking it personally. So Haye's gameplan is working... But is it the right gameplan? Time will tell. One thing is abundently clear from one of Haye's responses: "We'll shake hands after the fight" Nobody who wants to burn their bridges completely says that kind of thing. Haye knows full well that this could go badly wrong - he's just trying to stack some of the odds in his favour.
its all about promotion and ppv sales this is just to hype it up abit for the sake of our brothers over the pond on the night both men will be nervous they r only human
Enzo Calzaghe might want to make peace with Haye now the Maccarinelli fight is over and done with. I think he has offered Haye a journey to the Hamburg Arena in his Vauxhall People Carrier and they will stop for Pie and Chips and a Can on the way. On one condition ~~~~~~~~~ Haye lobs Enzo a few quid for petrol money !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats the thing, Hamed was smug & sure of himself before he fought Barrera, next thing we knew was when the scale of the event hit him he was slow to come out, & was visibly shaken when the mexican fans threw beer at him as he 'floated' into the ring. Hamed met his match that night, & now Haye finds himself in a Hamedesque situation, fighting the best man hes ever fought in front of his own adoring fans... Will Haye crumble like Hamed did? This is why its such a great fight, its dramatic on so many levels.
The difference is that Hamed thought he was completely unbeatable and pretty much got rid of anyone close to him who tried to tell him otherwise. When Hamed finally knew he was in over his head, it was too late because the damage had been done to an irreversable level. He would never outbox a brilliant, technically sound prime MAB who could stay upright. Haye & Booth know (and have admitted as much in interviews) that he cannot allow any legit heavyweight to land flush on his chin or it's game over. Haye's tasted that pill of losing and knows full well that the stakes are higher than ever here. But he does have many advantages over Wlad. I am sure that Haye knows himself and more importantly, his limitations, a lot more than Hamed even does now.
