I really believe he will lads. I been watching recent bouts of both men and i think he's got the ability to do it. Has the strength's and style to land and we know Wlad fights way he does because he can't take the digs. I think Haye's speed and punches from different angles and in 2's and 3's will be Wlad's undoing.
fair points POW, although I would just say that Hayes sole advantage is speed. I cant think of anymore. Hayes weapon is speed in this fight, & the whole fight is going to boil down to Haye keeping his nerve & unloading before Wlad establishes the most dominant of jabs. To me its all about Haye using that small window of opportunity in the opening 2 rounds to land his 'hayemakers' cos if he hasnt by then? Its game over for David as that jab pizzafaces Haye, like so many on the general forum hope for. Just the way I see it.
I think you're completely right - and I'm sure Haye knows the same thing. And the best thing about this is that everybody in the world knows that Wlad can be hurt early. Haye struggled to last 12 rounds with Valuev who couldn't get near him - there's no evidence to suggest he could do anything near that with Wlad. I agree that if Haye's going to win, it's got to be early and I'm sure Booth & David are realistic enough to know this.
That was awkward as ****...but really I think Wlad was WAY WAY more out of character. Wlad looked ****ing upset at 7:30.
Wlad was clearly pissed off.Say anything you want about him but when Haye talks about Vitali he gets upset, they have always been very close. I dont think any of this matters though.Wlad is too smart to let this get to him IMO and whoever wins it wont have anything to do with this. Also remember that since this interview Wlad had looked full of confidence.
I don't know how people think Wlad's been getting the better of it. Remember: Haye talked the talk before the Valuev fight. He always talks mad ****. Thats his way in fight mode. Whereas Wlad is usually all respectful and stuff. Yet here he was at 7:30 looking upset because Haye mentioned his brother, and he's trying to engage in trash talk and desperately trying to get the upper hand. Who is out of character and doing things different to normal? I'm not reading a lot into it but anyone thinking Wlad has got the best of this is reading this in quite a weird way IMO. I see Haye just upping his intensity, whereas Wlad is genuinely doing stuff he's never ever done before and looking a bit contrived while doing it.
Wlad is pissed off but given whats happened the last two years, how's he expected to act?? When talking about Haye the fighter...he's been very respectful.
Good point Uzi, I forgot about that as I have been so wrapped up in the mind games, & sometimes the finer points can slip a man by:good
Wladimir really can't let the t-shirt thing go. Still not as though it will make Wladimir come out and swing for the fences from the first bell. Typical hype. Especially for Americans to buy into a HW title fight that doesn't involve an American.
I'm not criticizing him for it. He really would be a robot if it wasn't rankling a little. But people just act like Wlad has schooled Haye in the mindgames and its nothing like that. Haye's been immature, but to a large degree he's successfully dragged Wlad down to his level and this video is a fine example of that yet people are still seeing strange things. Just because he talks in a Ukranian accent and wears a nice suit and Haye is the big bad guy, you gotta recognize whats actually happening. Haye's dragged him into this back and forth all the way through the build up.
Wlad was absolutely cold in there. Haye opening with dickhead etc was poor, he defo felt Wlads chills. Haye scared ? No. Why yi wirried, yi wirried, why yir pimping yiself ip ?
