do you prefer strikeforce events over the ufc ones, or the other way around? do you think they are both much of a muchness? i know little about strikeforce history, and i've only seen a strikeforce event twice[including today], and i like it. well, except for barnett doing his wwe speech after his fight! i hope that never gets popular in mma. i'm looking forward to watching all the strikeforce heavyweights in particular. who has the better heavyweight division in your opinion? what are the major differences between ufc and strikeforce events, if any?
when strikeforce has been around for 20 years and given us hundreds of great fights ill give them the props and start calling them equal to the ufc.
The UFC looks better and is run better. For the most part minus a few fighters and the Heavyweight division the UFC is much better. Strikeforce alloweing their fighters to fight outside in other orgs is much better for the fighters as it keeps them active... and in money. Lynchburg
strikeforce is living of its heavyweight division which is why its was even considered a threat to the ufc but aside from the HWs the ufc us better
It depends entirely on the event. The last UFC card was much better than last night's strikeforce card, but the previous strikeforce card was much better than the UFC card that was right before it. I don't see how you can really generalize. As for the fighters, there are a few guys in strikeforce who will be near or at the top in the UFC, but overall the UFC is much deeper.
I find strikeforce generally put on more exciting shows im not sure why but just alot more seem to be finished or at least interesting if they go the distance ala noons/masvidal. I like the speed at which they bring fighters in aswell. However, with the main event this is a let down as you want a big build up to a big fight and last night they just kind of walked on. Although last night im glad there was no build up to that dissappointing display.
Regards to HW Division: Deeper in SF for sure, imagine the guys you would see if the UFC tried an 8-man tourney Regards to events: They got their own things, SF has put on some stellar cards over the years, that one with Melendez-Shields-Mousasi defending their championships for one. However, I would not say they are better in quality than what the UFC can bring several times a year.
Depends on the card. Both have had some shitty cards, and both have had some great cards. It all depends on who is fighting and how the fights shake out.
Typically SF matches are better IMO. I know Overeem vs Werdum was boring, but rest of the card is good. How many main events has UFC ended with the crowd booing like there's no tomorrow.? Every GSP fight these days...Every Rampage match...
UFC puts on WAY more shows, so of course there will be more of everything. More fights that end up boring and more fights that were exciting.
