In a years time when Lopez, and Gamboa leave the division, and Donaire steps up, they will be a young black afican American that lives down the street from me in Capital Heights MD that will be taking the world by storm, and will be giving Donaire hell. I know right now he's still working out some kinks in his game, bout he come around just fine. In the DC boxing community we refer to him as the new and improved zab judah, and I can see him, and Donaire possibly giving boxing a epic trilogy.

Can't tell just yet. Too many talented boxers out there but we have to see if they deliver.

well, ive seen Russell fight on TV a good few times, usually pretty impressive. He had one rather lackluster fight. I'll have to say he probably has the fastest punching speed in Boxing, altogether. As one commentator had said, his punches have "Warp Speed" lol. But with so much speed generated, usually you're losing power behind the punch too.

With all his speed, its yet to be tested and showed if he can even hurt or even scrape B caliber opponents. He might come out to be the best "shoe shiner" in boxing....

well, if peeps are looking for a new slick african american, i think GRJr has their number...

knockout power isnt really there, but he can REALLY put his punches together in a speed thats wholly overwhelming. Im just wondering if they're hitting hard enough to prevent a hard-nosed puncher from countering thru the shoeshining.

But if *****s are getting tired of riding their awful horse, or looking for a new generation, i think GRJr has much to offer in the future. He just needs to pick up the fight schedule some....

Donaire would beat him, hes faster and moves way too much to let russel win. i can see a points win though, dont think donaire would KO him

Hold your horses, lets see what his mental fortitude is like first, his stamina, and his durability.

The aforementioned are some of the biggest issues when assessing a fighters potential.

Russel is too small and too slow to be able to give Donaire any problems. Pretty much the same result as Montiel except much easier.

I'd like to see GRJ against Gamboa someday.

If/when Donaire moves up to 122, I will be more apt to discussing how he fairs against 126lb fighters.

Man this kid is fire. His hand speed is unreal, only fighter alive that can match it is Gamboa. Can't wait to see his progression, he's got an early fan in me....reminds me of when I first saw Gamboa in his 3rd fight and became an instant fan.

I hope he does not have the mental toughness of Judah, chin of RJJ, the ducking of Gayweather.
