bloody delivery came just as Ward was bout to start have to say, from watching the previous fight the reffing in am fights can be very annoying. The lad in red seemed to be landing perfect shots and kept getting warnings, for what I dont know

 

I thought He'd lost as well, at least using the new scoring system I felt he'd lost. Ward probably landed the cleaner shots in the first 2 rounds, but threw much less and although his opponent was mainly catching Wards gloves, with that sort of activity level unsighted judges may still award points.

The spoiling from his Estonian opponent was really starting to frustrate and get to Ward, and Karlsson caught Ward a bit on the way out of clinches. But credit to Joe he finished strong, and caught the Estonian with 3-4 really good shots towards the end of the round as well as a few cuffing shots which probably did enough to turn the fight in his favour.
Were it not for the fact I think Karlsson should have been penalised for holding I'd complain about the decision being a little unjust.

Is that something that was introduced with the new scoring format? It makes sense I suppose, because i've heard people say that the new format will help discourage the blanket defense tactic.
