Would be quality if Macklin did the job, but if Kouji Sato didn't take home a 'W' from Germany Matts got no f'n chance :deal

'Martin Murray edging closer to a shot at Golovkin' :-( I'd lump the house on Golovkin sparking him.

Conference call just there - pretty much all the yank hack have written off Macklin and were more interested in Sturm-Martinez

    What?:huh

    That wasnt a dig pal

I was saying I wouldn't be any less/more interested in the fight. i like fighters based on who they are, how they come across etc etc. Not based on nationality. So macklin being classed as Irish/English makes no odds to me. I like him and want to see him do well. :good

As someone who's had a lot of differences with him before, I'd have to be in agreement with slap on this. Obviously I can't speak for individual cases, but, as a whole, I think the fact that a few of the Irish claim him has dented a lot of the interest. I truly believe that this thread would be abundantly longer if that wasn't the case.

yeah thats what I meant

I cant? I will anyway.

Head says that Sturms BMW piston-like relentless jab, combined with reach and height advantages paints Macklins face bright reds with persistant punsihment and frustates the life out of him.

Macklin battles through and keeps going but its folly, he cant get in, around or past the German jab. When he bulls his way in he gets caught with double left hooks to the body, further exacerbating the frustration and grinds Macklin down until he limps across the line. Wide UD for Sturm.

Heart says - you've never seen Macklin looking in such good shape, camp went perfect, the gym is buzzing, its a crest of a wave, Sturm underestimates Macklin and struggles to make the weight having to get his bawsak out on the scales. Macklin swamps Sturm taking him out of his comfort zone and pushing him back. Macklin unleshes hell, ripping into him with fury and percision. This is it and we see a replay of Macklin-Asikainen or should I say Sturm-Castillejo I.

who cares now. for some it will be that, for others like Dan it wont. its not really any different than some americans struggling to get behind a mexican american who bigs up the fact hes of mexican descent.

as for the fight itself, i wasnt aware that macklin was so much smaller than sturm. it means a very good jab to get past just looks a lot harder as i dont think macklin has the speed of foot movement to negate it. il be cheering him on regardless like, and there should generally be more interest in this fight everywhere, its two Top 10 Ring Magazine middleweights and the more top 10 guys fighting each other in all divisions the better, so whats not to look forward to as a boxin fan
