Jones at 168 had more juice than the man from del monte :admin Up to his eyeballs on the bad stuff, surely can't be considered?
Yeah Froch definitley has heavy hands, but his lack of speed enables his opponents to brace themselves before impact.
Benn was a tremendous puncher. Really physically strong as well. He and McClellan really ended each other as top fighters with their power, McClellan tragically.
Sven Ottke no sorry, wrong thread I'd say Iran Barkley deserves a mention. He destroyed Darrin Van Horne for the IBF strap. Tony Thornton (RIP) had some pop Henry Wharton could punch, especially his left hook
So many that had KO power. G McClellan, N Benn, J Lacy, B Mitchell all had great KO power at world level
Yep , Eubank became gun shy after the 2nd Watson fight but before that he had serious power in his right hand but @ 160 which makes this a moot point. Benn still had awesome power @ 168 - it just seems like it didnt carry so well up with him from 160 because he always faced better opposition at SM.
Jeff Lacy power is average and nothing more . If you look at the weak opposition hes been facing in his career ,of course hes going to look like a huge puncher knocking them out . His power nowhere near great ,He has not not stopped anyone since 05 .
Lacy lost his punch power when he damaged his shoulder. S Vanderpool was world rated and went the distance with Hopkins yet Lacy took him out. R Reid was world rated and never stopped yet Lacy went through him. Froch is considered to have power, but has only 1 KO in a world title fights, and that was against a previously KOd fighter
