Cornelious Bundrage vs Sechew Powell 2?!?!? Hell when Guillermo Jones was suppose to fight Ron Coyne that wouldve been a better fight to show.

    1. Neither Austin or Stiverne are going to be anything in the heavyweight division and what makes it even worse is how shitty the division is. Austin is big, fat, old and slow and Stiverne besides beating a 20-0 nobody in his last fight had drew against a 17-17-1 fighter 4 fights ago and a few years ago he was stopped in 4 rounds by a 11-15 fighter and in the only fight that he went the distance he went life and death with a shot 40 year old Robert Hawkins. Point is both guys suck and arent goin anywhere in the division and the 40 year old is probably gonna easily knock out the 32 year old unknown scrub with a padded record.

    2. Bundrage vs Powell is for a title and the champion lost the first time they fought.

    3. Who wouldnt want to see a rematch of this?

    4. The winner of Bundrage/Powell would be a good opponent for anyone at 154 and seeing as Canelo just defended his title on HBO why not set up a unification vs the winner?

What the **** are the decision makers at HBO thinking??? What would you guys rather see as the opening bout? Bundrage/ Powell 2 or Austin/ Stiverne? IMO its not even close give me Powell/ Bundrage all day everyday over some scrub heavyweight fight.

I take it this is on the Wlad/Haye undercard? HBO just wants to have a night of televised heavyweight fights and maybe give the division a shot in the arm.

Ray Austin vs a nobody with a padded record isnt doing any good even if it was what your talking about on the Wlad/ Haye undercard. But this is even worse a tripleheader that could be great but now its just ehh cause they put a terrible terrible fight with two terrible fighters.

I agree it's a very meh fight. I can't remember the last time I watched an HBO fight. Showtime really has kicked their ass the last several years.

I made a thread about this too.. it definitely is Don King's doing... that guy needs to retire:patsch..... I have no idea why the Bundrage fight will not be televised... just like his last fight wasn't and it turned out to be good...

It allows the announcers more time to discuss Wlad-Haye.
That fight will get more talk than the in ring action.

Yeah. And, as a big fan of the HW division, I am glad they are doing this. I wish the HW Explosion series was still happening. Like it or not naysayers, the HW division is boxing's flagship and many boxing fans LOVE seeing the big boys mixing it up!:happy:happy

HBO wants to force feed us another minority heavyweight hope (Stiverne). Like they tried with Arreola and are now HOPING bigtime for Haye. The fight will most likely not go as long as the Bundrage fight as well. Three decisions would put them over their time limit.

Well don't they have a contract with Alexander guaranteeing him a huge sum of money for this fight.. I'm sure that Bundrage-Powell might not have demanded much money, but king probably threw them Austin for free..

Who wouldn't rather see an exciting fight with actual meaning and history between two skilled boxers versus simply watching a fight because the fighters are in the so-called flagship division. I can't believe anyone actually voted for the Austin vs Stiverne fight.

You get dumber but the day. No real BOXING fan wants to see this fight over a good title fight.
