    You beat me too it:yep

Roberto Duran at 20 was on the cusp of greatness & just 10 days after his 21st Birthday he ripped the Lightweight away from Ken Buchanan & that was the begining of the reign of terror:yep

It's 31 years ago today that DURAN the GREAT battered Sugar Ray Leonard all over the ring in Montreal to become at the time only the 2nd Lightweight in history to succesfully navigate his way to the Welterweight crown in near on 40+ years & the only other fighter to do this was Henry Armstrong.

    Way before my time.

What I'm trying to get at here is only the greats showed this type of composure so early in their careers. Obviously it does not guarantee it but it is a sign that the stuff is there. There is also the other cases like Pac who after not looking so great earlier on went on to transform into a great.

There is many roads to get to greatness but very few were blessed with the skills off the bat.

Crazy to think this kid didnt have an amateur career. He is a natural athlete. he said in an interview he was also on the reserves to be a pro soccer player.

Not at all we have guys like Benitez and lets not forget Vargas who unfortunately was put with the best at a young age, but held his own. Alvarez would have never been able to even survive what Vargas had to go through...

future superstar, maybe. Most complete 20 yr. old? Good lord no, wtf are you thinking? A lot of ATG types looked more developed in their pro debut than Canelo does now.

Canelo would be the top 5 greatest ever when he hits 25 :thumbsup
He'd be in the top 25 next year when he beats Cotto Floyd then Pac :good
Top 15 in 2013 after beating Bute Ward and Sergio
Top 5 in 2015 when he beats both Dawson who will beat Hopkins at light heavy :deal
Canelo will be remembered as the best 25 year old to ever lace the gloves :hat:hat

Thats a myth... HE looked better and sharper vs ODLH thant he did vs TIto... He wanted to beat Oscar so bad, i think the ko loss sucked something out of him...

Trinidad did ruin David Reid though.. But then again the eye problems were catching up with him too.
